Who can replace Leroy Sane?

yes but they aint wingers and come in side as does Mahrez....the only player that goes outside is Raz - and he rarely does that due to the fact that he plays on the left-

we dont have a plan B

All these players are similar and one paced (besides Raz)> Sane offered pace inside and more importantly to this discussion, onthe outside as well - its this we lose and if we dont replace we become more predictable than we have already
So Sane is not predictable?

So Sane is not predictable?

You are missing the point

All those attackers attack in very simlar.teh same way - sane offers something different to all of them - raw pace on the outside of the fullback as well as the ability to come inside - so no he isnt as predictable as an individual but he also added variety to the way the team attacks - and unless we replace him with something similar we will lose that variety

Sane don’t cut in ? We have gundog , kdb ,David for now , foden and Bernie who can play in the middle. Add Zinko if needed in the middle.

So next season

Sterling/Mahrez
Foden/Bernardo as the wing depth

with a midfield of KDB, Gundogan, Rodri, Bernardo and Foden. One injury and that's our squad depth gasping for air. Not to mention just how off balance and predictable the attack and the way we attack would be

That guy failed in Napoli and was basically a one season wonder in a bad league compared to the Pl. He is just raw pace but not someone who opens up a Defence with a 1vs1 or 1vs2. I rather give Braaf a chance before I ask Di Laurentis about Lozano who he wants to sell for the same price he bought him.

You may be correct. There are factors to consider though. Serie A is a much more defensive league than the Dutch league. Many players would score more goals in Holland than Italy.

Lozano is a natural on the left. Ancelotti mostly played a 4-4-2 and wanted to use Lozano as one of the strikers. He can play up top but isn't his best position.

Ancelotti was sacked and Gattuso doesn't favour him. He has said he is looking for a player with "different qualities."

At the start of the season he was coming off a knee injury and had pre-season in Holland not Italy. Then covid stopped play.

It is obvious his time is done there and Gattuso doesn't favour him but I don't think it is as cut and dry as you do.

There are English clubs looking at him, including Ancelotti's Everton, reportedly. Therefore, Ancelotti might well think it isn't all Lozano but the situation at Napoli too.

He may not come good in a bigger league. I think he may well if given another opportunity in the right situation.

Would be nice having a two footed versatile LW that can play across all front 3 like Richarlison, Son and Jota to name a few. They're fast but maybe not Sané fast, they compensate with intelligent movement though.

Otherwise we might as well just continue to play Foden in a free roaming LW role when we want a break from Sterling on the left flank. And then wait for an ideal LW target to emmerge. He's a joy for the eye there, super creative and able to take more risks than in midfield

Jota is a great shout.

Jota would be excellent but no way he's leaving Wolves for anything but silly money

Also don’t forget our wing backs gives us width more than our wingers as they join the attack.

Sadly the 3 names mentioned are owned by clubs that have no need to sell and I think would take an exorbitant fee to prize them away. But all would be great additions. I think the reason Grealish is getting more rumblings in the press is due to if they go down to be honest.

I know he had a stinker against us but I hope we’re keeping tabs on Saint-Maximin. He had another blinder today.
