Where did all this ‘alpha’ shite start anyway? Nobody used that word til a couple of years ago. I blame fuck nuggets like Joe Rogan.

Alpha males as a concept have existed forever. Basically just people who were capable of being leaders and forward thinkers.

Transition to now, and its just sad dickheads on Instagram who live in the gym and are trying to convince you to buy their foreign exchange trading course while they take a week in Dubai taking enough pics and video to convince other sad dickheads they go there every other week.
 
It's because the entire sports media in this country is so beholden to Mamchstiuur Ushited that they can't even contemplate that there may be a better club in the neighbouring Borough.

Well they're definitely not

The only reason they're considered a kind of big club is because they had a bit of success, mostly half a century ago, and they basically have no competition for fans in their City. Much like Newcastle really, I don't consider them a big club, just very well supported by the locals. A big catchment area with only one kind of big club in the city.

City are a big club worldwide these days for sure. Only Man U and Liverpool have more popularity when it comes to English clubs.

This is the point. I always reply "define 'big' ". Is it stadium capacity, average crowds, trophies, time in the top flight, revenue etc? It's the same as saying a club that's been around over 130 years has "no history"

You could certainly say we're a "bigger" club than Kidderminster but why would a fan of either club even care?
 
I could not care less who are a bigger club, who sells more tickets for a semi final, how many empty seats a club has, who has the highest turnover etc.

Proper insecure stuff, typically perpetuated by insecure fan bases who typically only supported their respective clubs as they were insecure.

I e never heard anyone say this, but I rarely step foot out of Manchester, let alone to Leeds. To their fans I’m sure they see themselves as a bigger club, to us we will think the same about City.
Newcastle fans will think they’re bigger than most clubs. It’s all bollocks.

A club is as big as it is to its own fans

I've got some Leeds supporting mates and I've never heard them claim to be bigger than us.

Think things have calmed down between them and us since the tribal warfare of the 70s. Mainly due to the mutual dislike of Utd.

They know how to do parades though. Made the mistake of being in Leeds last bank holiday monday and there were thousands of the fckers!
 
I’m good mates with a Leeds fan and he’s always on the wind up about empty seats etc but he’s never once said that Leeds are a bigger club than we are

He lived in the same block of flats as Dzeko and occasionally saw him in the lift. When we drew them in the cup my mate said to him “go easy at the weekend I’m a Leeds fan” - we beat them 4 or 5 nil I think and the next time he saw him Edin winked at him and said “I told you we wouldn’t try too hard”

Leeds have potential to be the biggest club in England, the largest one team city by a country mile. Their achievements have never matched their potential. But with level of investment we've had they could be bigger than Liverpool, be careful what you wish for Spitty. I am quite happy with what City have achieved and don't need to make comparisons to other clubs. Hard to feel anything but admiration for any fan base that hates the rags so much.
