Who did Mancini p*ss off?

Unless you were actually in the board/team meetings or you are the Sheikh you cannot categorically say who he upset, he has been gone now for nearly two seasons and City are still going strong so why the heck does it matter now??

This is one of the most pointless threads I have ever read!!!

I loved Mancini as much as the next fan but the only time he upset me was when he dropped Pantillimon for the Cup Final. That was all wrong.

And just one reason for him to be sacked. A dirty trick! And, of course, Pants would have palmed that header over the bar and we'd have won it 2-0 in ET!

Resignation stuff is most probably utter bullshit. Managers don't resign these days as that cost them millions.

*lol* I'm not sure what would have happened I just felt it was all wrong when he had played the other matches and during the week had actually said he was playing. Plus he had flown his family over so he must have been told that he was playing. It just wasn't fair in my humble opinion.

I very much doubt that was his genuine intention. He wanted to stir the pot and flex his muscles and knew City wouldn't let him if they possibly could avoid it. He most definitely held the whip hand at that time.

I stand by my story but whether he did formally offer his resignation or not, it was his subsequent behaviour that sealed his fate. Had he even made an effort to work with TB then things might well have turned out differently.

Mancini wanted to break up the title winning squad and rebuild again which would have meant getting rid of several high profile players.

The powers that be at the club disagreed partly due to FFP and Mancini threw his toys out of the pram.

From then on he was on borrowed time and certain individual/s made sure than the players Mancini wanted gone were aware of that fact which lead to the poor showings from some of these players and leaked stories to the press.

That's conjecture on my part but makes the most sense to me ;-)
Yet once he was gone, the same players [with the exception of those he signed in the botched summer] went on to win the title once again. Getting rid of those high profile players would have been a huge mistake, especially as some of those he really wanted to replace them with [RVP and De Rossi] were at the back end of there own careers too!

How about hazard? ;-)

You do know pantillamon came out and said he'd be leaving in the summer the week before the fa cup final don't you.thats why he didn't play and rightly so.why the fuck he said that a week before cup final God knows.it cost him his place

We were the first in for Hazard. He attended the derby game that we won. We took him around the areas where he could live. He then met with United. It looked like we would get him but then Chelsea won the Champions League and from that point they were his choice. We cannot sign just anybody we choose.

Pretty well everyone from the Sheikh downwards. Even consummate professionals like Silva and Zabaleta were complaining bitterly about him. But it's completely wrong to say player power forced him out. It may have played a part but it was his behaviour towards the people above him that got him the chop.

Looks like he was a right tyrant, even NDJ quivered 3:13 when Bobby passed..

But from that article it was Mancini's fault for not taking the opportunity to cash in on Balotelli.
