We all hear about overworked people like doctors and teachers, but is anyone else on a cushy number?

I'm well paid, never have to work more than my contracted hours and reckon for the last 4 years have averaged about 10% productivity. The rest of the time I just spend pretending to be busy. The work I do takes hardly any thought processes at all.

So why do I hate it?[/quote]

Because you don't do anything and you're ashamed of yourself.

because its boring and not taxing your brain

Not everyone is cut out to be a mod, move on and give someone else a chance.

There'll soon plenty of disabled people that Ric can get in at £2 an hour and make huge savings thanks to their exploitation.

I can't complain to be fair. Come in office. Get a few updates for my ships and that's it for the day. Log on Bluemoon. Do my album review. Read some other shite. Bit of Office banter and indoor footie. Then hit the gym lunch time and usually go pub after. Then home.

You definitely can't. Damocles will post a robot video that can do you job better hopefully :)

I've been up and down a triple ladder all week, in the cold. There'll be a ladder climbing robot soon hopefully.

I wonder what album tomorrow has in stall..

anyone else play the working from home game? I've even managed to cut out the irritation of the commute now most days

I have the odd day trip to MK but her ladyship does the station run for me and I zizz on the train until just before it pulls into the station :-)

I always thought I was a lazy bastard until I realised that everyone bullshits all the time about how hard they work. I can honestly count on 2 hands the number of people I've met who I've genuinely been impressed with how hard they work. I used to have a pretty cushy job, but I've now got a proper job where I actually try. Mainly because I actually like the job.

I can honestly say that I work my fucking balls off. I build houses and do renovations/additions and it's hard, heavy work that absolutely knackers me these days. I wouldn't have it any other way though. Makes the beer at the end of the day that much more enjoyable.

I've never had a job that was cushy all the time, but I've been contracted out on jobs that have been ridiculously easy. I once spent a day with Top Gear magazine at Oulton Park. I took the photographer up in the cherry picker whilst he took snaps of the cars from above as they came out of a corner.
They promised me a drive around the track with their test driver in what was then the brand new Audi TT.
They didn't have time but promised to ask for me again when they came back in a few weeks to test some supercars.
They stuck to their word and I spent a day watching Ferraris, Lambos and Lotus etc driving around the circuit. At the end of the day they let me pick which car I wanted to go round in and which test driver I wanted to drive. Did two laps as a passenger in a Ferrari. The driver deliberately flicked the tail out and did a power slide around a corner and then looked to see my reaction. I had a big shit eating grin on my face and he just laughed. Got paid overtime for it too.

I earn 50k, work from home (apart from wednesdays when I have to drive to London) Have a piss easy job that takes about an hour of my time each day, so I can walk the dog, sort the baby out etc...

Everyone says I'm on a cushy number, but I reckon a cushy number is doing something you love that gives you satisfaction everyday. Not many people get that, which is a shame. We shouldn't program our kids to copy us, we should be making sure they do what makes them happy.
