Who in your opinion epitomises "Mr Manchester City?"

Ive heard some bad stories about him colloquially. Hope they aren't true.

My Dad hated him, nearly kicked off with him in Calis Beach in Turkey once I wanted the ground to swallow me up. Don't really know specifics, he just used to say Swales' fucking lackey and shake his fist!

Tony Book.

8 year City playing career from 1966-1974
Assistant player manager in 1973
Assistant manager in 1974
5 year City Manager career from 1974-1979
City Youth Team Coach from 1981-89
First team Caretaker Manager in 1989
First team Caretaker Manager in 1993
Introduction to City’s Hall of Fame in 1994
Other roles at the club up to 1997
Honorary President from 2008 to his death

…apart from a few years as a scout for Huddersfield from 1997, he was involved with City across the most part of 6 decades.

He always seemed to be at the Etihad for our games even when looking quite frail in his later years.
Think we have a winner

Basically my experience, a lot of people love him and I've never personally had anything bad but the aulder lads seem to really have an issue because of the Swales stuff. Not sure what went on tbh.

Yeah it was all a bit before my time. No doubt some murky stuff went on with Swales but the club saw fit to make him honorary president so he must have been well liked in some circles at least. I think we're all happier with Summerbee in that role now Bernard has sadly passed away.

Who's actually a great candidate I didn't mention previously for Mr Manchester City!
