Who is your favourite/the greatest human?

Over Mandela?

Personally preferred Malcolm x to MLK.
Mandela is definitely up there. A truly great man.

Regarding preferring Malcolm X over MLK, how and why?

MLK’s message was totally peaceful, called on people to be colour blind and to live side by side and he got far more done than Malcolm X.

I understand why Malcolm X had the views he did, I really do, but MLK’s view of how society should be is surely better.

Martin Luther King is up there.

David Silva, Colin Bell, Bert Trautmann to name a few others.

Billy Connolly is a great fella who I’ve seen live.

I think MLK takes it though.

Because Malcolm X, sold drugs and dated white woman before his transformation. He was open about these things. Read his biography 4 times,. He lived a very interesting life to say the least.

MLK was not the Saint everyone made him out to be.

I also like Malcolm X fire and brimstone style of speaking, but that is just me though.

All people are flawed so I acknowledge your points.

I know MLK was an adulterer and had issues in his private life, I just prefer the man to be honest and think his ways were smarter than X’s.

MLK was the main figure in getting rid of the awful Jim Crow laws, if X was more successful out of the two, it would likely have created division.

I personally understand why Malcolm X thought what he did, I remember feeling aggrieved at racism in the 1960s and beyond, especially watching America, but MLK strikes accord with me as we have a mixed race family background.

For history nerds, perhaps someone like Saint Bede or whoever was buried at Sutton Hoo (Raedwald or his son Sigeberht) to learn more about Dark Age Britain.

Celts, Druids, Picts, Neolithic and Mesolithic Brits etc. The information you could learn from them could change British history.
Our history is so fascinating.

The amount of old races we have had here is quite something

The number of tribes that occupied Britain at the time of the Roman invasion is astounding to me. Each one had their own cultures, traditions, rituals, even languages. Sadly, we'll never know much about them!

It’s crazy to think most of what we know of our lot (the Angles and Saxons) is from the Anglo Saxon Chronicle and is likely biased.

Those that came before the Romans we’ve got no chance.

Sad as I’ve always loved history.
