Two things I don't expect city to do because we don't do them:

1. Buy any player as a quick fix or 'sticking plaster' for the injury crisis that is not otherwise part of our long term plans.

2. Pay over the odds and have our pants pulled down because, it's Jan, we are in a mess and agents know we have lots of money.

Because of this I'm not expecting much if any transfer business in Jan. Having said that, if the aspiration is a compact squad with 2 players for each position, it would make sense if our directors, management (and scouts if they are any good) have a list of realistic replacements for everyone.
