Who should be the next leader of the Tory party?

I'm beginning to think that if I hear any politician use the words "I've been very clear" once more, I may be forced to take strong measures to ensure my sanity.

Whilst they’ll both be terrible, Truss will be like Johnson mark II, with Dories and Mogg still in the Cabinet. The MP’s voted for some sort of change, the country desperately wants some sort of change and yet the MP‘s stuck with the usual suspects and the blue rinse brigade are going to elect a vacuous, blond, self publicist as our PM, once again.

Doesn’t matter what the country wants.
This is all simply about the preservation of the Tory party and keeping it in power whatever the cost to us plebs.
The upside is that in the process they are tearing themselves apart and demonstrating what a conniving untrustworthy bunch of backstabbers they really are.

Wtf are they both banging on about being tough with china , like we care about that right now or ever
Interesting point. They are probably pandering to a particular group of politicians, the inter Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC), some of whom are quite influential in the Conservative Party.

China’s influence in the UK has grown significantly, especially after Brexit, as anyone walking around any British university city might recognize.

I'm surprised not one of the moderate Tories has decided to a Macron and create their own party away from the English Nationalist Party it's turning into.

There's a political vacuum there. Only needs on MP to see it on any side of the house and exploit it.

I thought Rory Stewart might do something but it seems not.

Like Change U.K.?… :-o

I suppose FPTP serves as stark deterrent for those wishing to break from the two-party system and thus keeps both Labour and the Conservatives as broad churches. A more interesting question might be why the left/centre Conservatives have not formed an official caucus within their own Party, much like the ERG, and given themselves greater clout. Perhaps they believe that the Party will naturally gravitate back to the centre, but that could be a long wait.
