I am inclined to think if Thatcher was in power - as much as I dislike her - you are right in as much as she surrounded herself with people of ability not fucking brainless air heads like we have now

Just watched Dateline London. Good to hear what the rest of the world thinks about this election. The foreign journalists all agreed the candidates have a romantic view of thatcherism, which like Blairism is a product of its time and it will be a disaster if the winning candidate uses Maggie type policies on the nation. One even joked if they are that obsessed with her they should set up a sceance with her and discuss modern solutions to her philosophy.
