Who was the last City player that just played for City?

Talking of long serving players:-

If you count early retirement both Paul Lake and David White, and before them Glynn Pardoe who had a far longer career having come through the youth set up, played in the team that won the title, FA cup, League cup, and European cup winners cup before being forced to retire with injury.

What I meant was, who was the last City player that spent their whole career with the club, started there and never left.

I thought David White played for Leeds at one stage? I think it is Paul Lake.

White went on to play for Leeds and Sheff U, remember him signing near xmas for Leeds and just sat in the pub on a night out devasted my hero had left :(

I can only think of Paul Lake also. Though I was too young to remember him in his prime and his career was cut sadly short. We must be talking decades to find a player who has played his entire career for City.

There's not many of them, I thought Paul Power would be a blue for life. He gave everything for City but was a boo boy favourite.
I was actually chuffed for him that he won the league with Everton when he moved on.
Never forget him scoring the winner for them at Maine Road and looking as gutted as Law at OT in 74.
Power wasn't exactly world class but he was City through and through.

Or his winner in fa cup semi final at villa park

Yes your right about David White, I just had it in my head he retired from us for some reason.

There have been a fair few over the years forced to retire early, but there are those who dropped down a couple of divisions when there career was finished at the top level just to make a living, released on a free rather than moving for other reasons.
