Who was the last City player that just played for City?

For sure Tony Book was signed from Plymouth

eli fletcher left back 1911-1925 as far as i know he only played for city any since, because careers cut short through injury

It would be a bit hard to count Chester against Oakes, he played his entire first class career with us and only left to get into managment as that was the way it was done in them days.

And yes he did give first offer on Ian Rush to City, but Swales (C*nt of a man) blocked it.

Before Lake- Gary Buckley showed a lot of promise early eighties then suffered the same fate as PL.

A good mate of mine is Gary he finished his career at Preston

I used to work with Mick Buckley Everton, related to Gary ,Micks career ended in similar fashion I believe. I remember Garys all too short career shame

I thought we signed him from Bath

Allison signed Tony Book first when he was in charge at Bath and then again when he was at Plymouth. Book was 32 when he joined City.

No one is counting Chester against Oakes just the thread is about people who have played for City and only City. Oakes therefore legend that he is doesn't come into that. Having moved to Chester as a teenager I know a few Chester fans and their love for Oakes is almost as strong as any City fans who is old enough to remember him!

Played for City from the age of 15 and retired in 1976 and went into the coaching staff! Never played for anyone but City!
