Who was the last Rock n roll star?

Can someone define Rock and Roll too? Is it Elvis or Buddy Holly? Is it Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd? Is it Kiss or Gun's & Roses? Is it Queen or The Cure? Is it Oasis or The Stone Roses?

All have different sounds and styles.

When someone says Rock and Roll I have and Elvis/Buddy Holly image in my head.

Much as I love Oasis I find Liam's "I'm dead 'ard, take loads of drugs and drink" a bit sad. Rock stars were never the same after Spinal Tap took the piss out of them.

Is it Oasis or The Stone Roses that one album wonder band (admittedly from their own fans as they disown Second Coming)? ;-)

Rock’n’roll was a term for sexual intercourse. It doesn’t actually have anything to do with music.

Took more drugs than most of the rest put together. Had to be resucitated after an overdose. Put in a straight jacket after slitting his own wrists. I would say he was pretty rock n roll.
They had Depeche Mode's first top of the pops appearance on TV last night, singing new life.

If you'd said to someone at the time that other bands will consider this lot too dangerous to go on tour with and btw that dorky looking fella singing will end up fronting them at massive US stadiums as one of the UKs most successful music exports but he'll also have to be brought back to life in the back of an ambulance due to his excesses...but he'll sort himself out and they'll carry on making new music and attracting new listeners instead of doing nostalgia tours like their peers oh and they'll eventually get inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame...you'd probably have been met with some scepticism!

Chuck Berry, he started it and without him you wouldn't have some class music that followed like the beatles, stones, CCR, the doors etc

You wouldn't have shite like Yes, Zeplin and Rush either, so Chuck you have a lot to answer for also :-)
