Who was the last Rock n roll star?

No different to anyone from anywhere else. Everywhere you go people are pretty much the same.

There are no young British, American, Aussie, or Kiwi (or anywhere else) lads who are rock’n’roll stars. Same in football, no characters in football anymore.

Young men are very bland and soft these days.
You always told me you liked a soft man...

Harry Styles.

Will be up there with Freddie Mercury in 30 years time.

Last great Rock and Roll star?

Lemmy. Drugs, heavy metal, gorgeous women and JD by the bucket load.

If anyone says Liam Gallagher then they need shooting. He's a pastiche of a rock and roll star. Totally irrelevant. You don't go around telling everyone how hard you drink. How many drugs you do. You just get on and live your life.

I drank with Lemmy in the bar around the corner from his house. He was, of course, the perfect gentleman, no shouting, no histrionics, just him, a cowboy hat, some JD and a bartop fruit machine for company. We spent 4 hours getting me drunk. Left on a handshake. He carried on. I went to my hotel to sleep. For hours.

He lived his life the way he wanted to. He had no need to shout out loud how much of a rock star he was because he was a rock star. All his life.

You don’t go round telling everybody which hard bastards you’ve had a drink with.

Depends what you mean by “rock and roll star”.

But I’ll just leave Mark E Smith here and leave you all to it.
There have been a number since he was in his prime.

I’d say the last one was Pete Doherty. Maybe Amy Winehouse. Don’t think we’ve had any new ones since the 00s.
