Who will be scoring goals for us this season?

Other players will play more and get the goals. If an 8 or 11/7 can't score in this team they won't last long.

It’s a tough one.

For anyone saying ‘we’ve got Håland’ - while he might score a few more goals than he did last season - we can’t genuinely expect him to score an extra 30 goals on top of the 52 he already got the replace Gündoğan and Mahrez’s goals.

Under-scorers like Grealish need to step up. He takes far too long to swing his leg back and strike the ball, by the time he’s done it he’s almost always closed down.

Foden is a good goalscorer but will need to step up and score more, and needs to improve his technique with moving his head/eyes away from the ball if he wants to go from 16, 14, 15 goals a season to 23 or more.

Then we’re relying on Kovačić, Palmer, McAtee etc. none of which are 12/17 goals a season players.

But who knows? Sometimes things work out and sometimes things don’t. We might share the 30 goals around the squad evenly and be fine and win the Quadruple, or maybe this will be exactly where we’ll struggle and we’ll win fuck all.

The obvious answer is Jack, Phil, Kovačić, Bernie need to add a few goals to their game (and that Pep will need to find a balance to get more goals out of them).

I assume the Mahrez stats are skewed a little bit by his penalties. I feel like the high scoring cup goals that also skew Mahrez's goals don't need to be replaced as much as Gundogan's clutch goals either. That's to say Palmer and Lewis can probably score 6 or 7 with minutes in those competitions.

Talking abouyt goal scoring, here's a challenge. For a chance to win £250, I have to name four City players who, between them get as close 21 goals in the PL. All players must score at least 1 and over 21 is bust.
I'm thinking of -
Rodri- 2 last year
Jack- 5 last year (Hoping for 2 or 3 more)
Kevin-7 last year
Stonesy-2 last year

Not sure if Bernie will stay or if Palmer/Macatee gets loaned. Not sure about Alvarez or Phil either, might score too many.

We sold Gundogan and Mahrez. Gundo scored an average of 12.7 goals and Mahrez 17.7 goals in the last three seasons in all competitions, that's almost 30 goals per season that we might be missing. Kovacic isn't known for his goal-scoring prowess - he's only scored a total of three goals in the last three EPL seasons - and even if we buy another winger, I doubt he'll have as big an impact as Mahrez right away. Haaland will need to up his numbers even more LOL. Alvarez, Foden, Grealish and KDB would all need to score 7-8 more goals to compensate for Gundogan and Mahrez. Not looking good at the moment.
It not just the number they scored.

They scored Key goals, decisive goals, match winning goals, championship winning goals.

Additionally, look at their assist record and the same influence pertains.

Jack and Phil both need to start scoring regular key goals to bridge the gap because Erling will not get 52 goals this season.

Catches win matches...goals win games...defences win trophies...u....d win fuck all !!

Stop showing off with your proper letters ;-)

Provided Foden plays in the middle he and those around him will score plenty. Now for the sacrilege: if Pep leaves him as a wide forward, he should leave.
