Who will the neutrals support on Monday?

I think there was a point when most seemed to want the rags to win it. Now, with all their cheating and refs giving them everything, people seem to be swinging towards us. Most of the people I speak to are wishing us luck and are really excited about watching the game !! some of these people are those that ent too fussed about football but are really getting built up for this one !! thats how big a game it is !!

The only fans that seem to want us to fail are Spurs fans!! these fookers really have it in for us for some reason. For that reason, I cant stand them.

Same bitter attitude the Rags have for Real Madrid.

No doubt we've lost a few friends since the takeover but the Rags are still far more universally hated than we are so the majority of neutrals will still favour us.

To be honest, gauging the levels of bitterness and jealousy towards us by seeing what opposition fans have to say on internet forums is, by my reckoning, quite inaccurate. Somebody posted a link to a Norwich forum last week where no more than 3 or 4 Norwich fans were moaning about how much we've spent. My guess is that the vast majority of Norwich fans are far more pre-occupied with how well their own team has done in the past couple of seasons to be the remotest bit arsed about how our club goes about it's business.

Villa, Everton, and Arsenal fans are somewhat understandably a bit more bitter towards us because we've taken some of their best players from them but they also need to look at the wider picture and appreciate that at least we paid damn good money for those players and if their respective clubs haven't re-invested the full amounts received by us on new recruits then that's not our problem. For instance, Villa received the thick end of £40 million from us for Barry and Milner (not to mention £15 million off United for Young, and £20 million off Liverpool for Downing) yet Lerner has reigned in their spending over the past couple of seasons and as such that has led to them now having a far weaker squad than they did 3 years ago. Any Villa fans still displaying an unhealthy amount of bitterness towards us should get a fucking grip and concentrate on the rather substantial problems unfolding at their own club.

Had a wee look on KUMB and found these that I thought some might like

"Would you rather that a club who has just bought their way into the top 4 of the PL win the title? Or are you being sarcastic (which many people on this website will not understand"
reply
"Remind me again, how did Man Utd acquire Rooney, Young, Carrick, Ferdinand, De Gea, Hernandez, Valencia, etc etc?

They've both done the same thing, it just seems to be more acceptable for Man Utd to do it because they've been doing it longer and over more time."
followed up with
" I think the two situations are very different though, Man Utd have been up the top for ages whereas Man Citeh have just bought their way up the league. It's mainly the principle to me. The thought of a team just being able to buy the league is sickening but unfortunately is gonna happen soon enough."
or maybe
"I'm happy to see other teams challenging personally. The Premier League has been about money from the start, the clubs that spend big win it year on year regardless of whether they build up quickly or over time. Blackburn won it in 1995 on the back of Jack Whatsisface bank rolling them, but everyone back then was happy to see them stop Man Utd winning it. Ditto Newcastle for the following two seasons, especially after they spunked £15m on that elbow jockey Shearer.

Yet suddenly Man Utd are the last bastian of all that is pure and good at the top of our game? The same club that is millions in debt - far more than Citeh would be if the sheiks ****ed off tomorrow?

No thanks, not buying it."

and
"I ****ing detest these man utd, arsenal, spuds, chelsea, and liverpool fans getting on there high horse about city buying the title remind me what your clubs have been doing for the last 20 years not to mention going round and poaching youngsters from smaller clubs and paying a pittance for them in the mean time.

City were getting over 30,000 in the third tier I doubt the as for mentioned clubs above would be able to boast that, City are a proper club with proper fans like the west ham of the north just with billions and billions more money "

and
"I love seeing City blow everyone out the water, unfashionable City to smash Manchester United and wipe that smile right of Fergies face."
or maybe
"Ideal Scenario

United win 5-0 thanks to 5 dodgy penalties, due to fouls on Ashley Young, Man Utd later found to fix the match, and fined £25 million and have their recored expunged and are forced to play in the Lancashire Amateur League Division 7, in the 21st tier of English football, starting the season on minus 50 points. Man City win the title. Rooney and Young sentenced to 8 years in prison. Everyone lives happily ever after.

and you couldn't find a way to re-introduce capital punishment for Young - shame on you."

^same as. All bar one that I have spoke to (excluding scum of course) have said that they want us to win Mon and the league. The one who doesn't is my Boss and he's a spuds fan.

Just left the office here in the iom with everyone wishing me luck for Monday. Mostly Liverpool and everton fans.

Both sets of dipper fans, to be fair, have always generally favoured City over the Rags. I think you can rest assured that Merseyside will be rooting for us.

not sure about it, most of rags I know in real life or virtually are pro Real Madrid and I guess it's because of Ronaldo. Haven't found them being bitter about it tbh
