Who would you like us to sign and sell in the summer?

Have to agree with ,most of what you say Blink blue but can't see Moutinho anywhere but Spurs and Sakho wouldn't leave PSG where he is backup to come to City as backup.

I think just use Richards and Rekik as the backup CBs. No need to have another player on the books hardly playing on a big wage. Can't see Luke Shaw joining either, being behind Clichy for the most part will really stunt his growth and development.

Yes you're probably right about Moutinho, for whatever reason we don't seem interested. He'd be perfect for us though I think, such great midfielder. I'm not too aware of Sahko's situation at PSG but I assumed he wasn't happy there after being relegated from captain to bench warmer, if not then there's plenty of other possibilities for a back up CB.

Arguably his development would be served better at Southampton but he'd cost a bomb in a few years I'd guess. Besides Mancini frequently rotates the full backs anyway and I think he'd fit our style perfectly, massive potential.

Outgoing:
(from the current first team squad)
Maicon - He's still only 31 but has struggled for fitness since signing. I think he was purchased to provide support in light of Micah's injury record, but it's a role he hasn't been able to fill since the start of the season, either due to lack of fitness or form.
Kolo - His contract expires at the end of the season. While he's still a strong player, we in my opinion have three stronger centre backs at the club. At 31 he's not likely to improve and is taking up a place in the squad which could be filled by a younger player with room to develop and improve.
Tevez - Still a great striker, but he only has one year left on his contract and is unlikely to sign an extension. He's obviously a player which we will need to replace whether he leaves the club this summer or next. Selling this summer we would perhaps still be able to command a fee. It would also hopefully mean that the price of the striker we're targeting as a replacement would be lower.

(other players)
Bridge - Wabara - Boyata - McGivern - Ibrahim - Santa Cruz - Scapuzzi

Incoming:
Marquinhos - Young Brazilian central defender that we've been linked fairly heavily with. Having watched him a few times during his current loan spell at Roma he looks like the perfect understudy for Kompany. He reads the game well, and makes a number of interceptions. He's also pretty fast which is perhaps a trait lacking amongst of current set of centre backs.
Falcao - He doesn't need much of a explanation. He's proven when it comes to scoring in almost all situations. Obviously we would face some stiff competition and might not get him but I'd make him our number one target. I think he'd give us an edge that we occasionally lack when trying to break down teams who are content to sit back and defend in numbers. While he's got great movement to create space and get in behind defences, he's also comfortable with the ball with defenders in front of him.

Squad:
That would leave us with a strong squad of 23 players eligible for both the Premier League and Champions League.

GK: Hart - Pantilimon - Wright
RB: Zabaleta - Richards
LB: Clichy - Kolarov
CB: Kompany - Lescott - Nastasic - Marquinhos
CM: Yaya - Barry - Garcia - Rodwell
AM: Silva - Milner - Nasri - Sinclair
CF: Falcao - Aguero - Dzeko - Guidetti

Look how average that CM quartet looks, excluding Yaya, they are just decent/average players. Midfield is the most important position when playing in the CL, that's why we were completely dominated and didn't amass one win. Rest of the squad is top notch though.

Not seen much of Icardi. Can anyone compare him to another more well known striker?
Didn't want to compare him to another Argentinian but he reminds me a lot of Higuain. Loves pulling off onto the shoulder of the centre-back when about 35/40 yards out looking to be played in. Very good finisher, not lightning quick but decent pace and links up the play very well too. Hard worker obviously being Argentinian and all.

A good job he didn't play yesterday as we would've been even more exposed down our right with non existent Nasri playing.

If we want an injection of youth and fresh ideas in midfield for a price that might not be too crazy (1 year left on his contract) here is another option. Hard to know how well he will do outside of Holland but he's very talented plus 4 assists and 1 goal (against us...) in the Champions League this season aged 20...

Christian Eriksen has informed Ajax that he does not want to sign a new contract with the club, according to technical director Marc Overmars.

The 20-year-old, who has scored nine and assisted 13 goals for his side this season, has refused to extend his current deal which runs out in the summer of 2014.

And Overmars told sporten.dk that Eriksen is looking at options elsewhere - with Goal.com exclusively revealing last year that Tottenham were keen on the midfielder.

Overmars said: "Christian has informed us that he doesn’t want to sign a new contract right now. I think he and his agent want to see what opportunities present themselves this summer."

Despite speculation linking Eriksen to a number of clubs around Europe, Overmars is keen for the youngster to further his progression at the Amsterdam ArenA for a few more years before moving to another club.

He added: "We want him to stay here for at least two more years, but the day he leaves us, he will be ready to play for the very best. He’s a player even the biggest clubs in the world could do with having in their squad."

DEF:
1) Samba/Williams 10m
A replacement for Lescott with a view of going straight into the team. Nastasic is quality but he's very young and can play an 'Evans role' for the time being, he'll get plenty of games. Both are Getable and both very good CBs. If not one of them, someone as good.

2) [Short term versatile CB] 0-10m
An Experienced CB who could fit in in DM. A 'Vieira' signing. Someone experienced and on a short term contract. I'd like to give Rodwell a chance to get over his injuries and with Rekik in the background I don't think buying another younger CB is wise.

3) [young LB] 0-10m
I'm not aware of any promising academy LB's so I'd look to sign a young LB as backup/competition to Clichy with an eye on eventually taking over the LB spot, a similar signing to those over the road have made with Buttner

MID:
3) Fellaini p/e 20m
No brainer. Alongside Yaya our CM is a frightening prospect for the opposition. If Yaya is injured or away we have the ideal guy to fill the gap. We also have an advantage in signing him with Lescott on the books.

4) Isco/Goetze 25-30m
A wide pplayer (not necessarily a winger) with pace and dribbling ability is sorely lacking at City. Both fit the bill.

5) Taarabt 10m
With QPR almost certain to go down whoever signs this lad has a potential world class player on their hands. May be a bit of a luxury signing but he won't be part of a relegated team again. We need more creative and skillful players regardless of who comes in to replace Nasri if/when he is sold (and it's a "when" as far as this bit of FM is concerned)
If it doesn't work out for whatever reason you're pretty much guaranteed to get your money back.

ATT:
6) Villa 10m
Falcao! Cavani! Suarez! Neymar! Messi!!!! I highly doubt we'll sign a 50m striker and, a far as I'm concerned, we don't need to. We already have one in Aguero and I'm trying to keep an eye on FFP and spend as little Net as possible whilst drastically improving the team.
For me, as a replacement for Tevez, Villa fits the bill and more. He's a goalscorer, can play on the left as part of a fluid 4-3-3/4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (however you want to describe it) come 4-4-2 (with Silva moving out left and Villa moving into position alongside Aguero)
I'm adamant that strikers are not our problem. With more mobility, pace and creativity from midfield in support Aguero, Dzeko, Villa and, I'm sure, Guidetti can score more than enough goals. I have to admit that the prospect of Silva linking up with Villa again also helps sway my thoughts.
Injury concerns? Well, I have faith in my medical staff (they've all got 5 stars in physiotherapy!) that they will sort out a good medical ;)

Nice! I will change some players but we have the same ideas.

The squad needs updating next summer for the same reason you wouldn’t see someone playing FIFA 11…

Players in our squad, such as Nasri, Lescott, Sinclair, Dzeko, Kolarov, Tevez, Garcia and Barry to some extent, rightly or wrongly have been pushed into the frame as a potential sale come summer.

We need movement in the attacking third, vibrancy in the centre of midfield and a striker who demands authority and can finish.
The sales:
-          Nasri, Tevez, Dzeko, Garcia, Kolarov & Sinclair Total £55 million

The purchases:
-          Cavani, Isco, Bale, Jovetic and Henriksen – Total £150 million

Undeniably, a window such as this would provide that spark both in the squad and amongst the supporters to generate the enthusiasm of the title winning campaign.
