On the radio this afternoon they mentioned this weekends Liverpool/West Ham game is a re-run of a recent cup final. Got me thinking about the lucky Hammers fans having had a recent cup final outing, and then Pompey's recent appearance etc.

Anyone know how many other English teams have won something (Europe, PL, FA Cup, League Cup) or even been to a cup final, since we last won the League Cup?

I'd be interested how many teams there are. Different standards are mentioned by different clubs all the time (e.g. the Arsenal trophy "drought" of 5 whole years).

Yeah, you're probably right at the moment. But I wonder how many sets of fans there are who've experience that kind of a day since we last did?
(I'm not counting the Weaver & Dickov show at Wembley).

No mate - I really want another day out - I want to take my grandson to a final or a town parade.

Happy for the stability but need another day out!!

The Thomas Cook Trophy, too.

Southampton made the FA Cup Final within the last 10 years and Wigan, Bolton and Middlesbrough have all made Carling Cup Final appearances.

That West Ham - Liverpool FA Cup Final was something else. It really was.

Thats kind of what i'm getting at - i'll bet its quite a big list and one with lots of surprising teams on it.

(just cant be arsed going back & working it all out for myself on a Friday night - and hoped someone would have the info to hand!)
