Who's the most famous person you have stood/sat next to.....

Re: Who's the most famous person you have stood/sat next to.

Sat next to Clive Wilson in the home end when we were away to Port Vale, the day Clive allen came on to score the winner. He had got his ticket off Darren Beckford.

Re: Who's the most famous person you have stood/sat next to.

At the 1970 League Cup Final against West Brom, my father and I sat in the two seats in front of Brian London and his son. When they left their seats at the end of the game (before us) , I noticed that one of them had dropped a City rosette, I still have it today.

Frank Gallagher was on our row at the Real Madrid game last year. No Gastric bandits in tow ,, more's the pity.

Re: Who's the most famous person you have stood/sat next to.

A few:

An injured and suited Paul Dickov sat directly next to me in Main Stand at Maine Rd.

Nick Hancock in his hey day also used the same seat for a home game against Stoke. Loads were ripping the piss out of him but he was hilarious.

John Stapleton

Not at a game but nice gossip anyway, Jack Rodwell and his gorgoeus Mrs were sat in front of me on a Virgin flight back from Vegas to Manchester last Sunday. The surprising thing was that he wasn't in first class.

At a City game?

I haven't sat next to anyone famous............

I did however sit right next to Led Zeppelin's John Bonham in a pub in Kidderminster around 1978.

I said "Hello John"

He said "Fuck off".

:)

Robert Plant stood behind me at a Prince concert.

I got Plant to sign my cd box set at half time during a game at the Molyneux (game against City) - my brother in law is an ST at Wolves and I borrowed his seat for the game.

But being told to "fuck off" by Bonham is quite an honour - he was probably pissed as usual.

Pete - sat next to him at a handful of games

The bloke who looks like Martin Jol with curly hair

Just in front of Noel Gallagher at Watford in 2006. My god, that was a dire game.

We must have been in close proximity at Watford.

To be fair, we only took half the allocation so we were few in number. I'd be amazed if more than half of those who went to that game, were prepared to watch another game of football

Re: Who's the most famous person you have stood/sat next to.

I have a photo of me, with my friend, Carlos Alberto sat next to me at the Etihad.
It's true, but I don't know how to put the photo on!

I was in corporate hospitality at that game, which was quite nice apart from the fact that you had to walk through the hospital next door to get there and it was in a portakabin. Gallagher was late coming in and got serenaded by "Who are yer..." by the City fans. It was a dreadful game and Foster's mistake gifted Vassell the goal that relegated them. Then came the famous Joey Barton interview.
