Why do dog owners think everyone loves their dogs?

I was attacked by two Doberman dogs when i was a kid, I ended up in hozzy and I am wary as fuck about dogs

Dies anyone else feel like me?
I'm not over fond of dogs. There used to be one on my way home from primary school. He was called Roger! Never set about me but growled! It was enough! And we had neighbours some years back who had a labrador or a retriever and one day it set off and drag the lady down the street - an unadopted, dirt street, and it had rained! She was dragged on her stomach some distance! And then sometime after the guy had his forearm pierced with a set of canines.

Mrs Ewing regularly cycle down the towpath and it's the chosen route for many a dog walker. We often come across those pit-bull type dogs and nowt makes me warier than one of those as I cycle by. Thankfully, they've behaved themselves so far.

I'm a dog person, have owned a dog in the past and will be looking to get one at the end of next year.

One thing that pisses me off when I'm out walking with the Mrs is dog owners who think that their dog has right of way on narrow foot paths over other human beings. For example we have to stand in the mud to let some owner and their pet through".

Another pet hate is dogs off leads on foot paths.

Why’s that? If they’re a nuisance to others then okay but my dog does what he’s told (most of the time). We do keep him nearby at all times though so ready to be put back on his lead very quickly.

If their well behaved then fair enough. Some owners unlike you don't give a toss and let their dogs roam.

They can get in the way of old people, trip runners up, run off in to a main road etc.
