Why do I fart so much?

Fart Update: Wednesday morning.

Tuesdays food consumed:

Breaks: 1 x coffee

Dinner: chicken salad, 2 x crisps, 2 x biscuits

Tea: homemade lasagne

Drinks: litre of juice, 2 teas.

Prognosis: having cut bread out I found that I only dropped my guts approx 6 times all day. Maybe coincidence or maybe it's bread that's making me Play the old buttock bassoon at such regular and hideous intervals

You can thank me later.

Try wheat/ gluton free lasagne sheets next time. Get rid of the crisps.

Sometimes it can be as much to do with how you eat as what you eat. If you dont chew your food properly then that part of the process of breaking down the food that is usually done by chewing happens in your intestines instead. This releases gases which either go north or south.

If you eat quickly and fart a lot, slowing dow and chewing more might be part of the answer.

Mrs London never farts ever, so she tells me, and when she does it never smells.

Yours is probably the same.

Dangerous Grains - written by a journalist & a doctor

(plenty there to get your teeth into; I have a bunch of friends who don't eat wheat anymore, several with serious problems if they do)

Forks Over Knives - provocative film on the modern diet, also made by doctors

(although I'd suggest their treatment of things is slightly skewed, but very interesting nevertheless)
