I browse a lot of forums and it's amazing how many football fans get their opinions from the red tops. There are plenty of knowledgeable fans out there who do rate him though. There's a thread on rawk for team of the year so far and vinny is in it.

I think for the same reasons that some City fans don't rate GazBazzer. Vinnie doesn't do the spectacular, justs gets on with the job, nobody from the media chasin' him down and so for the majority of non-MCFC fans he won't get noticed.

The vast majority of football fans get their info from The Sun, Talkshite, MOTD and SSN. None of the above really wax lyrical about Kompany, therefore the majority of football fans don't rate him as highly as us.

Seriously this just pisses me off. Been sat with a scouse and a rag and both claim "we dont rate him at all" then when i ask the rag do you ever watch full city games and not just the attacking shite they have on motd his answer was "not really". Unbelievable, then asked the same question to a liverpool fan and his reply was "i seen him last season playing as a dm he aint that good". Its disgusting how under rated this guy is.

That's alright .....

i don't rate half of their players either!

Quite a few rags put him in their PL team of the season next to Vidic.

He is still underrated but quickly gaining recognition.

At least it will stop the red tops linking him with 'want away' stories from 'a source'. Just tell all your non-city mates that all our players are shit, the manager is shit, no-one likes each other & the arabs will fuck off any minute.

That normally pisses on all their chips in one go!
