Why do we pander to Africa?

My thoughts on the debate...
Apartheid was an evil regime that should never have existed, no doubt about it!
Now this might upset a few on here but it needs to be said im afraid. I have lived and worked in South Africa now for the last 2 years since marrying a South African.
As a society, this country is still as divided now as it ever was under Apartheid in reality. Yes, the outrages rules that apartheid brought, demanding the segragation have gone, but the fact remains that apart from the workplace, socially, the vast majority of white and black or coloured South Africans do not mix. Im not just saying it is a black and white issue, it isnt, the huge differences between the black tribes is immense and violence is commonplace between them. It has been like that forever and will always be like that!
The reasons as far as i can see them are a huge distrust and cultures that just do not and never will mix. South Africa does have huge problems with corruption at the highest levels of government, BEE policies that ensure that very important and key jobs essential to the running of a succesful society, go unfortunately to under qualified candidates, purely on the basis of the colour of their skin, whilst white South Africans are overlooked, despite thier experience and qualifications and in increasing numbers have to look overseas for job oppotunities. What must never be forgot is that white South Africans are just as much South African as any black born and raised here, yet unfortunately, that isnt the case here. The key to any succesful state in my eyes is education, and year on year since the end of apartheid and the rule of the ANC, has seen a disastrious decline in the basic education standards of the black population resulting in this years matric results being the worst ever with over 20 schools nationwide having a ZERO% pass rate! That is not the fault of any white man, that is the fault of the ANC and their failure to carry through on promises to its people. Crime is a big issue and again, what does the average man in the street do when the government who took over, promises jobs, houses, food and prosperity to their people yet still fails miserably, years later, i will tell you what he does. He commits crime as he has no over option whilst the very people that year on year, blame all his problems on the white man, the politicians, drive around in ther R1.3m cars, living in their Joburg R10m mansions, pay themselves a salary of R1.5m a year and because of their government positions, award themselves as owners of businesses, multi million/billion Rand government contracts. Corruption of the highest order and it is endemic of Africa as a continent.
Zuma is not stupid and has made lots of noises of late that White South Africans have as much rights as any others, that our examples of successful schools need to be followed, not derised, that white farmers provide the food that keeps South Africa going and that the needless, sensless and criminal farm murders have to stop. He has pleaded with whites that have gone abroad to come back in to key jobs, the police are desperate for the experienced white officers, the national airline is in big trouble due to a lack of experienced and skilled maintanance staff, local municipalities are crumbling with massive budget deficits and a complete lack of services provided. Only last year, in Limpopo province where i live, the local municipality purchase over 100 new ambulances at a cost of over R100m, what happened the other week? They did an audit and over 80 of them have gone missing? Along with over R60m in cash from the municipality accounts. The ANC comrade in charge of that department has been suspended of course but he will get away with it and he will find himself back in a high paid job as soon as it all blows over.
As i have said, the older heads are making the right noises but the leader of the ANC youth league, the one and only Julius Malema, who drives around in his Range Rover sportV8, who last week refused to pay his 9 outstanding speeding tickets because it is a white mans fine?, who also lives in a huge mansion in Polokwane despite not working, who holds a senior political position despite not even managing to matric from high school, yet feels he has the right to downplay the continued success of white students, making excuses for the poor performance of his governments education policies. This man is unfotunately the future of this country yet he is without doubt, the biggest racist i have ever heard. Thats right, it is possible for a black man to be a racist! He spends his entire time demanding the end to anything white ran or controlled, he demands that evrything be put in the hands of 'Africans', not South Africans because as was pointed out to him, white people are also South African, so he now demands that Africans get it, 'his' people as he likes to put it! He is a Robert Mugabe mk2, yet he will get away with it as to say anything about him or to stand up to him as a white person in this country automatically makes you a racist!
This country and this continent, is unlike any other in the world, it is a place were albino blacks are slaughtered by witch doctors as their body parts are considered to make good medicine? It is a place were a villager can accuse another of being a witch and the rest of the village will murder him and the police will turn a blind eye? It is a place were tribalism will never go away, Zuma is a Zulu and the ANC had never had a Zulu as leader and trust me, prior to his election, it was made very clear by the Zulu's that failure to elect him would have resulted in serious violence!
You have to live here to realise what it is like and until you do, you cant really make a judgment. Things here are not clear cut, corruption will always exist, racial tensions will always exist, tribalism will always exist and the question i ask is this, when do we stop beating ourselves up over the past as the problems that exist today are not the fault of any white man, they are the fault of 1000's of years of customs, distrusts and cultures and the easily used excuse of 'lets blame it all on the white man'.

A saving grace would be that he is just trying to get a rise out of people. But to be sad enough to do that over such a long period would be grounds for sectioning in itself.

Like the jews endured (on a much larger more frightening scale in WW2).....Jews are now heads of banks, media, companies politics etc etc. I don't see the same sympathy for Jews, or self pity and constantly asking the world for help. I suggest you all look at the thread where people were asked to list their favourite posters, I was mentioned by about 80% of posters on a 6 page thread......like it or not YOU guys are in the minority, a lot of people enjoy my posts.
