It goes back to the 80's for me and there was a meeting of "the big five" to decide on the future of English football
The five were,
Rags
Arse
Spurs
Liverpool
Everton
A few weeks later we played Wimbledon at home mid week and our attendance was 28,000ish
A couple of weeks later, Everton played Wimbledon at home midweek and their attendance was 17,000 and this was a time when Everton had a very good team, the Reid, Sharp, Stevens era
When they were in that last chance saloon and Hans Segers through the ball into his own net twice, was a disgrace and what also went widely unreported is that the Wimbledon team bus was torched outside the hotel the night before.
Lescott transfer and the way Gollum was spouting his vitriol, however Hughes has to take a bit of blame there for his arrogance, but Gollum's tantrums and the way he whipped up a frenzy was totally disgusting
And what's all this shit about being "the people's club" when they've been bankrolled in the past
Ourselves and Everton should be soul mates. Both of us live in a red shadow, but the vast, vast majority of Everton supporters are bitter, sour faced twunts
