Why do you Match Day Thread.

The match day thread is like a Nun’s dinner party compared to being in the stadium, it feels a very small bit like being at the game with some of the funny and daft comments in the heat of the moment, but nothing compared to being at the game.

My favourite ones I miss from the game are when a player is wide open for a shot and someone will shout “SHOOT!” only for the player to have a shit shot and the same fella stands up and shouts “don’t shoot, you’re shite!”

As you say nothing like being at the game... still people there at 80 mins.

its called word of mouth

its a British thing to chew the fat over football and put the world to rights ? the pub was the base of many good nights or weekends of talking into your pints ? now we have the internet and the world is your oyster

I enjoy fishing in the match day thread when I'm bored and like to offer a fanny wipe after I've posted a flippant comment to those that have bitten.

A couple of weeks ago Fernandinho was having a blinder and I wrote something like - "He's well past his best. The donkey should be on Blackpool beach carrying kids on his back!"

Two regular posters responded as though I was being serious; ) Haha.

Because the other option is to see what my Mrs thinks.

When I’m alone at home watching, at least you can communicate with like minded blues.

I take the comments with a pinch of salt, in the moment when we’re all stressed, wanting City to win, I appreciate people, myself included, will say some daft stuff.

Taking it seriously or presuming it’s what people think all of the time, outside of the 90 minutes, is stupid.

This has the feel of an infinite loop about it.

Lads posts on forum giving out about other lads posting on forum. Other lads defend posting on forum, on forum. Rinse repeat

I must admit that I avoid the match day thread like the plague. Obviously we can watch all matches live on TV at the moment. In earlier times when City were not featured in an away match on TV, I would go anywhere else than the match day thread because of the total negativity that surrounded it.
