Why does Bobby never take his left hand out of his pocket?

I noticed on the tv last night he was signing a autograph for a kid but instead ot taking his hand out of his pocket and taking the lid of he got the lad to do it? Really weird, it must be some kind of superstition, anyone else notice it?
