Why doesn't the bible mention dinosaurs?

Not read the Torah or the Koran but the Old Testament is a Jewish Holy book so I guess they're of the same opinion as Christians.

Why would gathering knowledge of our world be not Christian?
Arg...

So if i study science that automatically makes me non Christian?

Is there anything more boring than posters ripping off comedian's acts?

Bill Hicks did this 20 years ago FFS...

Don't think the OP is trying to be funny or rip anybody off mate, more just raising a valid debate. The difference between a stand up comedian and a public forum is that stand up comedians get laughs not return arguments.

I think we're all well aware the OP isn't the first person to put this point forward. For comical or debating purposes.

Dont think it does.
On an Equal footing though, are we suppose to believe this.No visual evidence either. We will never know.

We know that dinosaurs (and other extinct animals and plants) existed because of the fossils they left behind. Their fossils come in many types, from preserved bones to tracks and more. Some fossils are better preserved than others and show impressions of skin and other soft tissues. Because of their remains that they have left, we know that dinosaurs existed, much like how we know the ancient Egyptians must have existed because they left the pyramids.

2. How do we know how old they were?

You may wonder how we know that these fossil remains are millions of years old! The answer is we use a method known as radiometric dating. We know that radiometric dating is reliable because it gives results which agree with nonradiometric dating methods (geography/geology, astronomical observations of the earth's rotation, relative dating methods, luminescence dating methods, etc etc etc) and because radiometric methods typically give consistent results despite using independent and different methods .

Some online resources about radiometric dating-

Probably something to do with the fact some Christian's believe the world is only about 6,000 years old (don't know the exact figure so don't slate me).

Although to say all Christian's believe this is a falsification. There are many that believe in scientific theories and see The Bible as more of a metaphorical guide. However, I don't know how the Christian's who do believe the Earth is only a few thousand years old would explain dinosaur fossils. You'd have to ask one I guess.
They claim that they are "tests of faith" from God.

It's also not particularly relevant to the general theme of the Bible...God's people in God's place under God's rule. Talking about dinosaurs, even if the authors had heard of them, probably wasn't their primary concern.

It's a bit like asking why Paul Dickov's injury time equaliser at Wembley didn't feature in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

It's because the majority on here have grown up in a Christian state. Therefore most have an underlying knowledge of Christianity that they don't of other religions.
