Why doesn't the bible mention dinosaurs?

never said it did. you inferred a reliabilty in the new testament which it clearly hasn't.
just making that point to its crazier claims.

Again the majority of the stories are there to describe the meaning of the message Jesus was trying to put across to ordinary people, not to be taken literally.

Some people do, but a lot of people don't take it literally, it's a guide.

ok then explain the virgin birth to me, who's the father?

Because it was written well before anyone knew about them. The existence of dinosaurs was only discovered in the last 150 years or so.

Well, Motorbikes are only a bit over 100yrs old but it didn't stop them from writing about Moses and his Triumph.

I reckon you're Honda right track there,lloydie.

A bloke who isn't Joseph but Mary was probably going to end up dead if she admitted to it so said it was a virgin, mystical occurrence.

Least that's my opinion of it, I've just been trying to explain how the Bible is taught in christian schools.

so are you telling me the son of god has come from a illicit relationship?
and who would kill her?

it's my opinion that's all, and just because I see no possibility for a virgin conception and the culture at the time suggests she'd have been in trouble.

The gospels surrounding the Virgin Birth state that no man had ever lay with Mary.

Aliens, I tell thee!

Actually, the story of the Immaculate Conception and then the Virgin Birth is pretty much the tenet of Christianity and a hugely significant part of Islam (who agree with it). The whole point is that there was no father. God wasn't the father of Jesus. He didn't have a Dad, like Anakin in Star Wars :)

which brings us back nicely to its non reliability.

We may have died out just like the dinosaurs, without those laws written in the bible, what would life be like today if there were no laws? Christian or otherwise it wouldn't take us very long to bring about the day of judgement "wipe each other out".. "Sodom & Gomorrah?
Seems like someone back then, worked out that in order for me to look back thousands of years, I had to be here to do it, look back on the ten commandments and using intelligence adapt them to our modern way of thinking.
