Why have we so many good players not playing well?

You can't put so many new players in a team and expect them to gel and confidence breeds confidence.

Plus neither manager we've had quite has the gift of making the whole greater than the sum of the parts, like Moyes, Hodgson or Ferguson does.
Moyes, Hodgson and Ferguson...all one factor there and that's time. Same goes with Mcleish at Brum.

Yeah, and City being the only team to have bought a player, and paid them we'll suffer more than most.

Remind me again where our band of mercenaries are on the table compared to your volunteers.

the 100 odd million you spent and your 5 points ahead..if it wasn't for our bad start we would be ahead of you

But you did have a bad start and you're not ahead of us. And we have a game in hand.

Did Fellaini come for free? Distin? Jagielka? Van dee Meyde? Beattie? Howard? Chuckle? Heitinga? Yakubu?

We've got good players but not the right ones. A midfield of De Jong and Barry is never going to win things for this club. Micah Richards as your full back is always going to bring you trouble.

We're not as good as Spurs, i thought we were but we aren't. If we snatch 4th place it would be an unbelievable achievement.

So all the Everton players are there because they were all childhood fans, and love the club? No, its because you paid good money to sign them, and put them on lucrative contracts. Footballs an occupation, and at the end of the day, they're there for the money. If another club came and offered them better, then they would be gone, just like a certain player who claimed he loved the club, and even wore a "once a blue, always a blue" t-shirt.

Because of the system we are playing and Mancini not having the players he wants to play that system, he is having to place square pegs in round holes at the moment and the players we expected to flourish this season are not doing so. You cannot argue with results in the main and you cannot argue against him being more productive in terms of points gained, especially on the road.

Did you know that up until 2 seasons ago your club was around the 6th biggest spenders in the life time of the the premier league, guess what your average finish over the same period is.

Here was me thinking your club over the years was working on a shoestring budget and had done well to finish in the top half quite often.
Mercenaries this football it's full of them.

True about your bad start this year though, saying that I did think and say on here at the begining of the season you would finish around 8th this year because of injuries and other teams spending.

Just as reference to your " good players don't come bad players overnight unless badly injured", well this I’m afraid is bollox Dave. It's their character as much as their ability that is a key trait fundamental to a consistent top performing prem. player SEASON AFTER SEASON.

That's why I connected my "Superman’s" pink trimmed cars or 100k fish tanks just as I did about Micah's RnB bullshit, I base their characters strongly on how I perceive them as players also. Thats why I'm very concerned about your slap head lover boy Dave;} ... as much as I am about Micahs lack of ability to pass a football.

On the other hand AJ is a lad who genuinely excites me for his mix of right character and quality. I think Ireland misses Robby and Elano tbh, he needs more space to make an impact...

I amazes me the position we are in now, compared to what i perceive as more attractive football last season....thought we great to watch last season, this season i'm nervous and unconvinced from start to finish

Not read all the thread, its prob already been been said , but it's down to not havin a settled team...
couldn't quite get the last bit to rhyme.

SWP - very overated by city fans. found out at Chelsea and unsettled by the wages of other players.
Barry - best year behind him get the feeling he's a bit dim
Adebayor - banned shot at and injured
Ireland - feckless weak headed clown
Richards - got da beats but not da feet
Toure - knows hes on his swan song

Leave Stevie alone, pal.

Didn't go to any away games last season I'm guessing.

What games has SWP played for England this season?

Second half against Holland, first half against Slovenia, full game against Belarus, 82 minutes against Brazil and just over half an hour against Egypt.

Ta for that

Unfortunately I can't even remember these games, never mind whether he played well or not

And if we hadn't had a run of 20 draws (or whatever) we'd be out of sight.

Oh, and if my aunt had bollocks, she'd be my uncle.

-- Fri Mar 26, 2010 8:48 am --

I think you need to take your rose coloured glasses off, mate.

We were poor last season. I can't remember the number of times I moaned about how we looked so clueless with no system and the players running around putting loads of effort in but ultimately not knowing what they are doing.

If you think that looked good, you must have been on chemicals.
