Why is there not a statue of Yaya?

Deserves a statue just for the 2 games at Wembley in 2011
Exactly.
The 1st game shook the world.
I'd offer up Newcastle away , the penultimate game of season 2011/12
As the 2nd game ...people forget that 52k geordies turned up that night needing Newcastle to win to get into Europe....Yaya smashed them twice in their own back yard...to give us the chance to.........the rest is History!

We are talking Colin Bell Rotherham away here.important goals away from home ...to open the gates to years of trophy.

Yaya Toure is a Blue legend.imo.

to be classed as a legend a lot also depends on what happens off the pitch. Tevez is another who I think, on his day, was probably as good as anyone we’ve ever had but nobody will really define him as a City legend because his off the field antics soured it.

He is a legend but nowhere near a statue. Big moment player and some big goals quoted there. On that logic could you say the same about Dzeko? Scored at Notts County away to force a replay and keep us in that cup which Yaya won for us. Title winning season Dzekos QPR goal, scored the first at Palace early, hours after Gerrards slip. The Villa home game where Yaya gets the plaudits for that goal where he ran through, we was struggling in that game until Dzeko opened the scoring in a must win. Two goals at Everton away, a ground we never won at in them years but he popped up when it mattered. If Yaya opened them gates, it is only because Dzeko had loosened them......

21 pages? He didn't deserve one, nor Tevez - far more deserving players than either of these. I'd rather one of Paul Dickov or Paul Power than of Yaya.
Can't argue with Paul Power...that goal against Milan..ran from his own half like a train/ Yaya....70 yards, cuts in on his left foot.... and left a world class goal keeper for dead on his near post,

The free kick at villa park ,semi final, 1981,the goal in the quarter final away at Goodison Park in the last min ,and the audacious lob Norwich city in the 4th round 81
Tons of energy,Blue to the core and never said a bad word about the club ( a nod to GDM,s comment ..) after over a decade of turning out in Sky Blue at Maine rd...
And one of ,my favourite players as a kid......yep that's a sound argument to be fair...Great name too..,Paul Power ,

Mate..Dzeko was a striker...that was his job to score goals.which he did.
Yaya Toure job was to boss central midfield,a long with David Silva
And his intricate neat passing game took the heat out of many a midfield oppennent.....and if the strikers hadn't scored in a particular match...how many times did we see the Yaya Express, breaking the lines from deep on a powerful run over 40 /50 yards to score....in tricky difficult matches away from home.legend.

When you consider his main job was to keep the ball, control posession, help the attack, but was still relied upon to score crucial goal, time after time......I really don't see any comparison between Dzeko and Yaya.imo.

If you don't see the comparison in the big important goals then I cannot help you mate.

If we were to hand out statues because of being a club legend, then outside the Etihad would be overrun with them

Yes, Yaya would have been top of many people's lists, but I feel something was missing in his later years
The spat about the cake and Pep's fall-out clouded his City career, and it did for him

City are going to have to come up with new ideas for honouring players and managers ? Bars and Concourse, maybe Walkways, Streets, after the Scot Carson Bench, where is there room ? maybe Carparks

Milner could have the south stand toilets named after him?

Meet you for a pint in Grealish Bar, I’ve just got to drop the kids off at the Walker’s Daddy Daycare first
