Why is there not a statue of Yaya?

Hopefully this latest outburst will make the OP, and all the others who think he deserved a statue, think again. The likes of Zabba* are so, so far ahead of Toure in the "is he worthy of a statue" stakes.

*Plenty others too; Pablo was the first one who sprung to mind
Named our dog after Zaba. Absolutely adore the bloke.

Where do you stop? If KdB gets one, then Pep gets one and Rodri gets one......Foden obviously when he retires, then Haaland if he stays for a few more years. You won't be able to get into the ground soon.

Then the FOCs will want Trautmann and Bell - both more deserving than Silva.
Longevity is the key as well as being great - KDB, Silva, Kompany and Aguero all did 10 years.

There is a statue of Trautman and Colin Bell had a stand named after him :)

What I took from your post was that, his off filed antica aside, he's a legend. I don't think Tevez was a legend for us on the pitch either.
Nah I don’t think either are. Both exceptional footballers but didn’t have the minerals to be legends

Yaya and Pep didn't see eye to eye. But what Yaya did for us deserves recognition for dragging us to the top, ending our trophy drought.

I like Pep (deserves a stadium tribute), I like Yaya (and he deserves a statue).

Yaya is a bell end. Exemplified by Joe Hart recently talking about how he could just switch it on or off and only turned up when he fancied it. That’s an ego problem imo and this sort of chat proves it.

To get a statue you must at the very least have the backing of the fans, having at least half of the fanbase thinking you're a **** isn't going to get you past the planning stages :)

Trautmann already has a statue, not sure where it is these days though!

But yes I'd say KDB deserves one, as does Pep when he departs.

Yaya is an absolute legend of this football club and was a top class player. However, he’s not even in our top 5 best midfielders in our modern era for me.

Silva, KDB, Fernandinho, Rodri and Gundogan were all better players than him.
Think Ferna got a training pitch iirc which seems to be the sub statue award, but Gundo seems to havec been by passed completely. Not heard much recently about KDBs statue, unless I missed it

Maybe the club are reigning in on many more
Not wanting to derail the thread just thought this was worth a mention.
