Why not pay stupid money?

Paying proper stupid money sets a dangerous precedent, we will have to pay over the odds due to "City Tax" and our financial situation but that doesn't mean we have to pay £25M or £30M to sign a RSC.
At the moment selling clubs are chancing their arm to see how much they can milk us for. West Ham are in the financial shite and IMHO I am guessing that they have to sell a couple of their "star" names and high wage earners. If we suddenly paid them £20M plus for Bellamy, this may be going rate plus same again, if we then go for the likes of a Villa or a Kaka, going rate (god knows what), plus same again on top is a hell of a lot of money to fork out.
Also the managerial situation has at the very least questions marks over it, what if we sign Bellamy for £20M, plus big wages and we get a new manager in the summer who does not want him ?

I`m a big give hughes a chance fan but if we paid anvywhere near 20mill for bellamy i`m jumping ship.
 
Who in there right mind would want to pay “fat Sam the pie munching man “ £30 000 000,come on mate that’s just fcukin ridiculous.

As a fan said in another post if your going to get ripped off at least get ripped off signing a proven class player.

Vey good point we might want to get rid, let’s face it these signings being mentioned would not be entertained by any off the top 4 or a world class manager.

If the Bellamy's and Parker's of this world are really the level Hughes is pitching things at ,then it's cause for concern.
Players of that calibre are two a penny in any decent European league, and a fraction of the cost.
Sure Hughes has to bring in quality guys who will put in a shift, week in week out, in the Premiership.
But they're NOT it !
And don't forget the desire of our new owners to bring in at least one Galatico this window.
It's all about marketing and the world wide brand to those guys.
And Bellamy/Parker don't cut it.

Because

1) If we do it to one they all expect the same treatment.
2) Prices will inflate and people will point fingers at us.
3) Some of us actually have principles (shocking I know).
