Why Samir Nasri was the perfect buy for us....

Nasri is not world class and won't ever be imo. He is good player but that's it and so far he has underperformed in a city shirt

Edit: Apologies to the op. This thread was intended to be a supportive one.
The problem is, the OP called him "absolutely world-class young player" which is at the moment quite frankly bollox. He might be capable of becoming world class, but he's miles off just now, and his own club manager, and national manager agree, as they have both criticised him recently, and if they can why can we not as the paying public ? I've no problem with people bigging him up because he's now one of ours but be realistic about it, he's had what ? 3 good games so far ?

I'm not bigging him up because he's one of ours, I've rated him for years. I've seen him play many times for Arsenal and I've always liked what I've seen. Whilst I agree he's not hit the heights that he's capable of yet, I also think he's not been as bad as some are suggesting. I'm convinced there's more to come and I've seen thread after thread on here berating the form of the likes of Micah, Lescott, Barry, Tevez, Silva, Balo, Aguero, Yaya, basically everybody whose ever pulled on a City shirt. Of course everyone was and is entitled to their opinion, but I believe we'll soon be able to add Nasri's name to the long and illustrious list of players who were written off on here only to come good in the end.

I hope you are right (I wasn't saying that you were bigging him up by the way).

Good player. On his day, a great player, but world-class? Never.

That term is tossed around far too easily.

I was sold on him as soon as the "Nasri-face" came out after his first game against (I think) Tottenham. Been pulling for him since, and I don't think I'll be let down :)

The two people who are calling Nasri shit in this thread, one of them is a closet rag and the other freely admits that he started watching City in 2009 and would stop if the money went.

If I wasn't such a pinko liberal I would probably ban them

World class Haha now that funny. I hope you prove me wrong Nasri but just can't see it myself

I think he still has his Arsenal Mentality, where he thinks he can disappear in games and there manager won't be too harsh on him. Give Bobby a year to coach that out of him. If he's still playing sh*t in 12 months, then we should get rid at that time while he has some resale value.

Any new player should be given a year to adjust IMO.
