Why Samir Nasri was the perfect buy for us....

dont know what people expect, most people who move jobs even if its doing the same job take times to get to know the new companys systems.my opinion has been he s been ok without setting the world on fire, but you can tell the talents there its just a case of bringing it out consistantly.

Tottenham 1 City 5

Yakubu scored 4 in one game this season, Leon Best scored a hat-trick last season. For 24m and a big reputation from a supposedly world class footballer who already has 5 years Premier League experience i expect more than one game where he got half of his assist total this season.

I hope that when you spend £24m on a supposedly world class footballer with a big reputation that they don't go missing in big games when you need them the most.

He may well be better next season but the fact is he has been very poor for the vast majority of games this season and he hasn't got any excuses, top players fit into top sides with ease, Silva, Yaya, Aguero, Balotelli all have, he is supposed to be a top player isn't he?

I don't totally disagree with you but why say that he hasn't shown anything. The league table certainly isn't as pretty if you disregard that game!
If you are saying he hasn't done enough/as much as you hoped......I agree.
But this is a player in your own team. Will rubbishing his achievements help anyone?

Probably because the amount of poor and non existent performances have clouded his one, maybe 2 (at Blackburn) ones.

ITA with the OP. Even tho' I too wanted Mata, I think it was the right, tactical move by Mancini. Signing Nasri has given us "some" depth, while effecting both Arsenal and Rags.

I still don't understand why some people think just b/c a player has "PL experience", you can just pluck him from 1 team and expect immediate results in another. Do people think Arsenal and City have the same "office" culture? Different boss, different team mates. Even Clichy was amazed at how different the teams practice.

Last year, Silva mentioned how a shortened pre-season effected him in getting accustomed to his new team. Look at Milner, Barry, Dzeko in their 2nd season with City. OK there is some inconsistencies, but overall, vastly improved 2nd season for them.

B/C he came from La Liga, people were willing to give Aguero time (=less pressure). Look at him now. We look at strikers for goals, midfielders for what? Playmaking abilities, assists? Aguero is 3rd in the league for goals, Nasri tied for 2nd in assists. As for work rate, yeah huge difference. But there have been times Aguero has gone missing and has been slated.
At least Nasri is no Downing (0 goals, 0 assists).

We need to give Nasri time (he's been here 4 months). Mancini pursued him over Mata for a reason. I think he'll come good.

Edit: Apologies to the op. This thread was intended to be a supportive one.
The problem is, the OP called him "absolutely world-class young player" which is at the moment quite frankly bollox. He might be capable of becoming world class, but he's miles off just now, and his own club manager, and national manager agree, as they have both criticised him recently, and if they can why can we not as the paying public ? I've no problem with people bigging him up because he's now one of ours but be realistic about it, he's had what ? 3 good games so far ?

Unfortunately have to agree. Has all the attributes to be a game changer but seems very subdued at mo and has been a little disappointing! But...hopefully bobby can get him firing and he can help merlin out and do what we know he can.

It's a shame with the Euros that we won't have much of a pre-season. A preseason together has done our team a world of good.

He will start to show his worth by the end of march, just give the lad a bit of time, he does everything bobby tells him to do at the moment, once bobby has groomed him he will let him off the leash.
