All this points trajectory stuff is not the important thing. What matters is that we are not playing well enough, often enough. If we keep playing like this we won't win the league.
If you watch us every week you'll see that clearly.
It's something I've been doing since the start of the year, it's a good guide for me and I don't know why anyone needs to be offended by that. I didn't overreact when we were ahead of our like for like results and United were behind, I won't over react now it's gone the other way. And for me, so long as we can keep on that trajectory I'm not going to write off the season.
As for playing well I do think it has been overblown a bit. Are we playing worse than we did mid last season? 32 points from 16 games we got from Liverpool to Swansea last season compared to 33 from our first 16 this season. Sure we've got to improve but I just don't think we're doing as bad as is being made out. Remember we've just come off a run of 10 games averaging 2.4 points a game, thats going to win the league 9 times out of 10 but if you listen to people you wouldn't think that.

but we will have to contend with that every season because our european ranking is not high enough to warrant a weaker group.
We could be in pot 4 for a century and I'd bet we wouldn't get a tougher group than this season. Doesn't excuse the performances but thought it worth pointing out.
