I said we were roughly on par, which we are based on like for like games. Par over the course of the year is the 89 points we got last season.

If we can maintain that par (we're currently 1 or 2 points behind it) we will get 89 points the same as last year. If we get 89 points we will win the league IMO.

I think it's from our English players because there has been claims made by so called journos that the English players are not getting on with Mancini especially lately They have been trying to find ways to critisce Mancini for dropping Lescott ie claims of poor defence due to change of partnership this was in the last two weeks after we conceeded just 2 in the last 7 games. Paul Hayward teething how Lescott wad overlooked for Kolo ... Maybe it's from JL camp since it looks like the beginning of the end just a guess really Nastatic being brilliant is the only thing of really stopping it being incessant criticism

Agree with you Dave, the points tally arguement is not the important factor here, it is the fact that we have not progressed any further on last season, in fact we seem to have taken a few backwards steps. Abject failure in the CL even though it was an extremely tough group, but we will have to contend with that every season because our european ranking is not high enough to warrant a weaker group.
Our league form has been one of frustration and you cannot just blame the players for this, How the hell can so many of our squad be so far of form. 1 or 2 yes but not the whole front line and then majority of the bloody midfield.

I didn't overreact when we were ahead of our like for like results and United were behind, I won't over react now it's gone the other way. And for me, so long as we can keep on that trajectory I'm not going to write off the season.

As for playing well I do think it has been overblown a bit. Are we playing worse than we did mid last season? 32 points from 16 games we got from Liverpool to Swansea last season compared to 33 from our first 16 this season. Sure we've got to improve but I just don't think we're doing as bad as is being made out. That might well be true moomba, but as you state it doesn't excuse the massive failings.
