Why we struggle to break down compact defences [VIDEO]

Teams won't be able to ignore the full back if it is Micah as he will just charge into the box and cause havoc.

I've said before though that we should try 4-3-3 with Aguero and Mario set wide and Tevez or Dzeko up the middle: that will stretch teams out more and leave more space for Yaya, Nasri or Silva to attack up the middle.

Zab is alright with the overlapping runs. He should have taken the shot instead of picking out our strikers.
That would have been the turning point.
Will someone on the coaching staff shows Zab that drilling a shot at goal, given the window of opportunity he had, will have a better probability of scoring, failing that there is a probability of rebound coming back for our strikers who are well placed in the box.
spot on, i was screaming at the tv,ffs why did'nt you shoot all about decision making....

Spot on! Zab had a brilliant shot which he has proved before, a shot nearly always leads to either a corner, hand ball, or a tap in, if not there's still no shame in trying.

Yes and that too

As much as Neville is a wanker he is speaking sense here. How much damage can our full-backs really have on our opponents. Mancini needs to address this quick if we're serious about contending this year. Failing that we desperately need a world-class winger in the summer, ideally Hazard.

I just thought of something else. If Neville is right, and I think most people agree that he is, then why on earth are we reliant on full backs to be the key to our attacking options? Is this simply a naive tactical mistake by RM? Why can't he utilise our undeniable talent in other areas?

More long range shots, yaya had two against Stoke scored one and almost scored with the other, even if the goalie saves you have a chance to score from the parried shot.

But it isnt fkcin rocket science is it?

Use our talents in other areas? We have no true winger besides AJ.

Micah would have shot.

I'm just stunned at how many people think they know better than Mancini.

Tell you what, let's play with wingers against United on April 30 and see where that gets us. As mediocre as they are, they'd pick us apart just like they did in January. Or perhaps we can just stick to what has got us here in the first place and bully them in midfield like we always do.
