Why we will win the league!

NBCSN said that we would be 9pts clear at the top of the League last season with this points haul! Just shows you how difficult it will be to win the League this season! Everyone has upped their game, as is evident from the points gulf between the top teams and the rest of the League. It has never been more clear just who the teams in contention are (Top 6), who the “almost” teams are, and who the “looking over your shoulder until April” teams are.

IF, and it is a big IF, Chelsea and possibly City get transfer bans, it will provide a significant boost to the other top competitors and could change the landscape for the next few years. This year, with our old guard getting OLD, we need to win as much as possible. This squad will look very different in two seasons, if we can do the four transfer windows.

Even if there's a transfer ban, if won't be for more than a couple of Windows. In that case, Begerestein and co will plan accordingly and get targets in before the ban commences. Barcelona dealt with a similar ban. It's not nearly as debilitating as you might think if you're clever in planning your purchases.

Can we hope Everton standing up to them? Still angry at Pickford last minute gaffe to give them 3 points instead of one.

That gaffe and the Mahrez penalty are two very lucky last minute luck for Liverpool. Wish Everton would win this weekend in last minute but any win would do.:))
Realistically it has to be one of the most worst Derbies in world football doesn't it?
Form goes out the window on derby day (usually) but in that derby it's so one sided every single season. No matter how poor you are you should still be able to get results in Derby matches but Everton seem to sh*t themselves on every single occasion.
City under Keegan, Pearce, Sven ect playing against the rags we'd still thump them 3-1, 4-1 on numerous occasions. Pity Everton can't put in those type of performances against their rivals.

My concern is that it will be quick, and require an appeal to have any transfers this summer. In conjunction with the FFP furor, we will need to be mindful of what we can do and when. My view is that what is left of the old guard, which are some of our best players of this decade of rapid growth and success, are going to be very expensive to replace with potential starters. However, I also feel like there are quite a few Academy graduates ready to be inserted into the first team squad, so the next few years are going to be very exciting...if we can also get those few world class additions needed.

Don't forget the three games we lost that we took the lead in - Palace, Leicester and Newcastle.

If we had been as ruthless as last season we would have 11 points more from the Liverpool (2), Palace (3), Leicester (3) and Newcastle (3) matches whilst the Scousers would have 1 point less. That would put us 11 points ahead of them, even if we had got draws in the three losses but still beat the Scousers we would be 5 points ahead of them.

Those loses were down to sloppy play if we cut it out for the rest of the season we can still win the league, but it might be the sheer number of games we have to play that may stop us, I only hope the Mahrez miss does not come back to haunt us!

Do our job, win all our games (tough ask) and everything else will take care of itself.

Need Jesus to be back and right back firing. Sergio is knackered.

This!! It may be a good idea to play Raheem in that false #9 role for a game or 2, otherwise I fear burn-out for Sergio and another potential injury due to said burn-out. In Pep I trust though, he will figure out what is best for us :-)

Need to pull everyone off the international squads like Fergie blatantly used to do ... slight knocks and injures at the start of international break and all miraculously fit by the end of it ...
