Why we will win the league!

Fernandinho: “If you look back, they [Liverpool] could have been 10 points clear. We reduced the gap to four points and now we’re one point up. That is the way the Premier League is going to be decided and I hope we can win three games, and be champions again.”

Fern is a machine. He will still be good enough next season for 25 games.

A lad who I coached on my school football team made his debut for Huddersfield last week. Would be amazing if he came off the bench to grab an equaliser - unlikely I know

We are in a great position now and I would be very surprised if we didn’t finish the job.
Burnley, Leicester and Brighton is a hell of a lot easier then our last 3 games...C.Palace, Spurs and Utd which also had Champions League games sandwiched in the middle.

I had one this morning going on about the PFA TOTY — and I am not joking — trying to tell me there was no reason that Fernandinho should be in it and that Fabinho deserves it more.

He also said that even if we win it by one point, everyone will consider Liverpool “Associate Champions”, so he is happy to focus on the CL, as if they win it no one will remember our “treble” (he actually said “quote, treble”).

He was being completely serious about all of it.
Brilliant!

That’s true, but it’s why football is sometimes so unpredictable you just can’t legislate for what might happen they look easier games on paper but that’s not how it works ..

Cheers pal, that gave me a good laugh.

As it did for me and the Spurs fan sat at the meeting after which he was spouting this drivel.

He actually later said he wouldn’t be in tomorrow afternoon as he has an “appointment”.

Hopefully to witness a Liverpool loss so they can focus more on the CL.

I can just hear it now, Mike Wedderburn on SSN the following day "Aaron Mooy you little dancer!"

I’ve been watching the scousers games this last while, but tomorrow will give it a miss as to be honest there’s more chance of aliens landing in my back garden as Huddersfield have of getting something from the game, and I’m not wanting to hear that cnut carragher screaming down the mic when the scousers score ..

What if the scousers prioritise Barca and rest a load of players tomorrow night. Agree very very unlikely but you just never know

In reality I'd be happy if they keep it down to a 3 goal margin so as not to harm our gd advantage

Everyone's been saying for a while now that we have the tougher fixtures, and rightly so. But after this weekend IMO they absolutely have the tougher fixtures.
I'd agree with that. I think I would rather have our last two fixtures than theirs but of course anything can happen.

Burnley is a big test, get through that and I'll feel a lot more confident.

GD is nearly irrelevant now as its unlikely we'll end on the same points, it would take some curious results from both of us.

Not really. If we lost a game and they drew a game, we'd both finish on 95 points; Or if we drew two games and they lost one, we'd both finish on 94 points
