This generation who (in general) have acquired some wealth for their old age through savings and work/private pensions and property might survive. I do worry for the current generation who don't get final salary pensions/find it difficult to get on the property ladder. The state pension will become increasingly important to many and losing the triple lock is a start of a very slippery slope when viewed in conjunction with the overall amount.
FOC's also suffer from the policies of the current government just as much as anyone else (austerity, Brexit, etc etc etc).

Thought I would bring this post back to life. So the elections on the horizon and and a reminder of all the things wrong. Local councils going bust despite taxes rising due to government cut backs and incompetence on all levels. Boat people arriving every day billions wasted on the Rwanda deal which will never happen. Inflation supposedly falling has any one see signs of this, fuel prices still high, energy prices high, interest rates are not falling , water companies expecting the public to bail them out due raw sewage on the beaches, the list is endless and then all the corruption regarding covid endless billions sent to the far corners of the earth towards wars whilst us the tax payer gets fuck all.

Could be Britain has never suffered an oppressive regime, suffered an invasion, slaughter on its door step, etc etc. it’s been relatively easy here for us. In Poland , for example, there’s a long standing tradition of subversion, insurrection and protest. Ukraine too. Countries that have had a shite time of it seem to Be quick to protest. Norn Iron are quick to kick off unlike the rest of the Isles.

We need a few politicians from the 80s 90s. They cared about politics. They cared about the country.

Nowadays governing the counrty feels like a stepping stone to greater things. So they dont do it.

Where this country turned to shit was when the senior politicians who fought in WW2 passed on. I mean fought in it, as opposed to fantasising about it. The likes of Denis Healey and Lord Carrington to name but two.

These guys knew what the crack was, and how solidarity is needed if a nation is not to fall about at the seams.

The next generation were (mostly) selfish, money-grabbing cunts with delusions of adequacy. There are exceptions, of course. But these last few years have seen the trend worsen. What really sickens me is that they mostly claim to be 'patriots' and shag flags while undermining the security of our whole society.
