Wigan allocated 21000 tickets.

Wigan will sell out. They sold nearly 22,000 for the semi and I'm guessing that more than a few would have been put off by the fact they were playing Millwall. Where there may be an opportunity is with the 40,000 'neutrals'. Many of those tickets sooner or later find their way into the hands of fans, so City fans will have less competition for those tickets than would be the case if we were playing a 'big' club.

In terms of the injustice of so many tickets going to 'non fans', I agree, it is a piss take, but it was always the case. Finalists never got 40,000 for the FA Cup final, certainly in my time, which goes back as far as the 1969 Cup Final. They got 40k for the League Cup Final. If my memory serves me correctly, at the old Wembley, the FA Cup finalists got 27,500 tickets. The rest went to 'The wider football family', because it was 'footballs day' People complained about exactly the same thing then and it's the same every year.

At least this time round, we'll be able to swamp the place by getting hold of the floating tickets. In future finals, when we may be up against Liverpool/Arsenal/Spurs or, shudder at the thought, Utd, it will be much, much harder.

A mate of mine and 4 of his mates bought season tickets for £50 each* at the start of the season and the duffers on the gates havent puulled them up once.

They now get to buy 10 Cup Final tickets by sending "someones Mum" to go and queue up for them so they are not sussed, and, given that there are no adult/child tickets at Wembley, they will again gain access without anyone raising an eyebrow.

Chuck in the fact that they have 5 spare tickets they can tout on the various ticket sites for a vastly inflated fortune to pay for their beer, hotel, class a's etc, and they cant believe their luck.

I work in Wigan and am amazed how many folk are awash with guaranteed tickets - I am being ignored as they "dont want City fans in our end". Come the day, I can see 5000 of our fans in their end with the way everyone is exploiting the various possibilities.

*£50 each was the price of a season ticket for those under 11

I'd imagined they would have updated their software by now. I had a junior rugby season ticket a few years ago for about £25 and it was still letting me in the following season. I was gonna try it for the football but didn't wanna risk not getting in so bought one instead.

They will sell out for this.

A Sunday League team would sell out for an FA Cup final. It's a once in a lifetime thing for most football fans. Anyone who has ever had anything to do with Wigan will want a ticket for this. They could probably shift 50000 if they were available.

wum

Not at all. We could probably sell 100,000. Anyone who has anything to do with the club would want to go. It's the FA cup final.

Still amazing to think that out of a 90,000 capacity stadium we only get circa 25,000. There's going to be a lot of disappointed people about, and can imagine Club Wembley being full of blues.

Wigan returned 10k from their 32k semi-final allocation

People are making an assumption that they sold 22k.....it could have and probably was less.

You can buy Club Wembley tickets from a Club Wembley member. Their website is not open to the general public to purchase tickets.
