You can’t polish a turd. We weren’t good enough, we shouldn’t have to be bringing on De Bruyne against Wigan. We missed 3 simple chances and we paid the price. Delph s challenge was fucking stupid.

Before the game I would have said this was the least important completion for us to be in. Not because I rate the league cup higher, just because we’re alresdy in the final of that and I’d rather take a loss tonight than at Wembley. Wembley/finals are places you never want to lose at.

In an ideal world I’d love all 4 trophies but like I said, if one had to go then for me it was the FA cup.

Pep will be seething - not at the result or the performance but the fact that there's no transparency when it comes to tackles. The red card probably didn't lose us the match but the fact remains that the opposition have kicked us around all season with no punishment to be seen while Delph makes a fair challenge (personally not even a yellow and that's with the blue tinted specs off). We were bound to lose in a cup game, let's get the cup at the weekend and kick on in the league and Europe. WE NEVER WIN AT HOME AND WE NEVER WIN AWAY
