Wigan going down but going to Europe?

Has Dave Whelan got a passport and will he demand pies at aways games rather than eat "Foreign muck"?

I hope they stay up because I like going there on away days and also think there manager is class. Europe will be good for Wigan

Yeah me too, they've got 2 games in hand over everyone else around them as well

Wigan

Deserve to stay up, some of the football they play is incredible for their budget. If Martinez was at a bigger club he would be amazing.

Re: Wigan

And yet you'll get some on here who claim that they don't deserve to be in the PL because of their poor crowds/following. Horseshit, in my measured opinion. The town may not deserve a PL side, but you can hardly blame the club for that. They've earned their place at the top table by producing where it matters, on the pitch. And Martinez seems a sound bloke.

Re: Wigan

For however well they played they still failed to score, that's why they are where they are.

Re: Wigan

i agree that they don't deserve to go down but it doesn't take a genius to realize why they are where they are
- Kone was all over the place and they have no end product
- wingers were all legs no idea of how to control a ball
midfield for the most part just run and run with no killer ball
- Figueroa got forward a lot from CB tonight that can easily be exploited with pace and width
- they also seemed to lose their heads a bit when then conceded
- although they try and play nice football a bit of the time you can see their play is centered around a rigid Long-Ball policy with Kone playing the ball back and turning on the shoulder of defenders there is no Plan B
