At this stage the club only needs to fill a few holes (Striker, CM, LB, Winger). Get these 4 players and we might not be needing anyone for another 2-3 years. Don't mind overpaying to get these 4 spots filled up.

On an unrelated note, do we think this is done and dusted?

Sky saying that we're close to agreeing personal terms.

Must admit I expected a protracted saga ending on deadline day. Didnt think that Swansea would be in any hurry to spend the fee and would drag it out as long as possible.

when he signed the one year extension to his contract he had the buy out clause taken away (19mil) but had a verble that if a CL team came in for him they would do a deal, Think its 25 mill plus 5 mil in add ons for what we win..see they never put him in the fa cup at the weekend so he can play for us in that (so long as we beat boro)

If we get him we will have 4 of the top 5 strikers in the PL 2014,,,,the odd one out being rug head (bony ,aguero, dzeko, yaya)

We should not break FFP restrictions to buy Bony.

Haha, fuckin mental isn't it.....there must be 500 posters who have been through city's books.

If it is all wrapped up today like SSN are suggesting, I will be hugely impressed. Wish all our transfers were as swift and professional as this appears to be.

Over a year ago the club thought they would be OK and would not face FFP sanctions in the first place and they did.
It was also expected we would break even this year but still a loss of about £ 7 million (taking away the £ 16 million FFP fine)

Thus they may think the Bony deal does not break the restriction imposed but surely best not to sail to close to the wind if possible.

I think they think we are being run by amateurs. The savviest of businesse minds are running our club. Not some flash in pan group or individual/individuals.

In regards to FFP. We will by all accounts be in profit this season. I assume if we did overspend this January then uefa won't see that till the accounts are released after April. And if they do show us to be in profit then uefa would look ridiculous to then give us further sanctions.
Fuck em

If this goes through it would be wonderful. I know Bony from his playing days at Vitesse and he was quite spectacular. He was that much better than the rest, he sort of put down a gear too frequently. Even at Swansea I think he still hasn't showed how good he can actually is. I don't think it's his attitude to relax during a game. I just feel he needs to have better players around him that challenge him and he will get that with us for sure. The guy is nearly unbeatable in the air, strong as an ox and a fox in the box. He is rarely injured as well. I'm sure we will get to see a lot of goals from him. Aguero will always be our main striker, but Bony will offer anything Negredo did in his first 5 months. Finally it would be good for us not to have him as an opponent because he knew how to score against us.

I do wonder how we fit him in for Chimps League with our restriction of players. And how the FFPR (fck fancy play reigns) applies.

Only downside: The Africa Cup ...

Even with the possible sales of Nastasic and Sinclair, if Swansea want a ridiculous £ 30 million we should walk away and not risk more sanctions from Ueafa. If we can get him for £ 20 million and with any sales ensure we stay within our FFP limits, then fine. We do not want to give the snipers more ammunition. We have already made a PR gaffe over the Lampard and NYCFC issue we do not want to create more rods for our own backs. I thought the club now wanted a more positive, calmer, straight forward approach to how they operate. i.e. do thinks in the right way to minimise any bad publicity.

Also if we buy Bony then when he eventually plays for us (mid Feb onwards) and Aguero is fit also, does that mean we will now again play 2 up front in a 4-4-2 when at times i.e. in Europe, a 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 seems better ? Also who will be left out of the Champions Laegue squad of 21 to allow Bony a place in that ?

Also as we have Dzeko and Jovetic, how will they fit in to the team\squad? I do not think we need 4 strikers, 3 is sufficient. Yes we have been unlucky that all 3 have been injuredm but normally 3 is sufficient with the option of playing 2 up front and 1 as back up for either, or just playing 1 up front at times and having the other 2 on the bench. If Jovetic is not a striker why did we buy him, we already have Silva, Nasri in particular and also Navas , Milner and Toure who can can all play as high up midfield players supporting a striker.

Surely if we do get Bony one of Jovetic or Dzeko will need to be sold in the summer.

Bony is a good player but we should not be forced to overpay and break FFP rules.
Yeah no, I stopped reading midway through the second paragraph when you were lecturing the management team on what we should and shouldn't do and how much we can spend to keep in line with limits. You obviously have more facts and data and know the numbers better than they do.

Ah so you are just a fucking idiot.

We did more than breakeven, we actually made a profit in terms of FFP when allowable deductions (spending on infrastructure and youth) are taken into account.
