He needs to improve on his goal celebrations, although I'm sure he'll have plenty of practice.

I read this a while back and thought i liked his character (not so much his fashion sense)

Check it out, this guy seems to be smart and have a sensible head on his giant shoulders.

On the Bony front I'm happy if we sign him from an ability perspective. He's a very good striker, with an eye for goal, and he brings aerial ability, power, and strength, which we lack at present from our strikers (Dzeko SHOULD provide these things, but all too often is surprisingly weak when it comes to the physical battle). My only concern is the who African Cup Of Nations bollocks, every 2 years Bony, just like Yaya, will disappear for 6 weeks or so, right at the heart of the season. Losing 1 key player is difficult, losing 2 will be doubly so. It really does baffle me how UEFA, and it's higher profile clubs, haven't put pressure on FIFA and the African Football Association to address the scheduling of this competition. There's really no need for it to be every 2 years, and the weather angle behind it's mid-season scheduling doesn't really hold water for a continent that straddles the equator like Africa does.

Serious question mate but do you believe that he`ll still be with us in 2017 ??
If you want to discuss yaya. Then fuck off to the yaya thread. This thread is about Bony!
;-)

Hahahaaaaa.I fucking asked for that mate.

When we beat QPR and needed 2 goals we had 3 strikers on the pitch. Balotelli forced a great save from a corner that set up the corner from which Dzeko scored, Balloteli then got the assist on the Aguerooooo goal. All 3 instrumental in the win. As we stand we are lucky to get 1 striker on the pitch!

If this season goes down to the wire again we might need 3 strikers on the pitch at some point and if Bony helps us win the league then £30m is a bargain. When you look at how much Everton paid for Lukaku and how much dross has been bought by various clubs for £10-£20m then this is not a bad deal.

I still don't understand why the club didn't take UEFA to court especially once they started shifting the goal posts at the last minute. We shouldn't have to be discussing this shit every time we want to sign a player.

Obviously wasn't worth it. FFPR won't exactly be a disadvantage after this season, seeing as we have higher revenues than all but 4/5 clubs.

At some point we might need to have a bit of an overhaul of the squad. We are fine at the moment but you never know what will happen in a few years time. If at some point things go a bit tits up and we felt we needed to do what say united have done in the last 12 months, would we be able to do it? We might be making a profit now having reigned things in deliberately to comply with their shite rules but would we be making a profit if we went out and spunked 200 million on players?

In FFP terms as long as our adjusted NP and the amortisation cleared off the books by players leaving covered the £40m mark, then yes, we would (given that the average contract would be 5 years) So, a rough estimate (all made up figures for the purpose of illustration):

Dzeko (£3m), Yaya (£4m), Silva (£3m), Kolarov (£2m), Fernandinho (£8m), Negredo (£3.75m), Caballero (£1.5m) and Milner (£5.2m) all leave, freeing up roughly £30m in amortisation, plus we turn in an FFP adjusted profit of £25m, we have £275m to spend on new players in that transfer window as long as the new signings' wages are covered by the wages of the outgoing players and the average contract is 5 years for amortisation purposes.

Given that the club can reasonably expect to cover a couple of squad places with promoted players from the CFA, that leaves us with some pretty powerful ammo in the transfer market.

Yet again. hypothetical musings of my own, just to show that it can easily be done.
