just said that toure , could have been sent off for taking his shirt off after the penalty.. why is it that when there is any shite spouted on there its mostly by an ex red.. ? he did say it would have been a bit harsh but he could have been sent off.. well why wasn't coutinho sent walking or why didn't he mention that when he scored, 1 yellow for taking his shirt off and then another for going in the crowd celebrating, both yellow cards , but maybe im old fashioned and I actually like it when players do that sort of thing, no way should it be yellow card for taking a shirt off celebrating. buts wilkins try and be fair you ex red twat.. in fact fucking twat

I thought when a player is booked for going shirtless it was because they are time wasting?

You can't waste time when the match is finished.

Absurd that anyone could think that a yellow should even be a consideration in them circumstances.

As the game technically ended when Yaya's penner hit the net, the shirt removal was after the game, so he could have claimed he was going to swap shirts but had been sweating a lot so he wanted to air it first. Shame so called experts dont know the rules of the game as taking your shirt off after the match has finished isnt a bookable offense.

On Coutinho he got a yellow for excessive celebration, so by the letter of the law couldnt have been booked twice, unless it was seen as ungentlemanly conduct.

Cool story Ray apart from the game has ended the moment the penalty hit the back of the net and thus Yaya is entitled to remove his shirt.

Sky's own referee consultant pointed out that the game has ended when Yaya scores.

Players can take their shirts off when the game is over.

No offence, no yellow card.

so coutinho should have been booked for time wasting and excessive celebration .. so is taking your shirt off a bookable offence for excessive celebrating or time wasting ??

Once the ball went in the back of the net the game had finished he could do what the fu*k he wanted with the shirt ,would he be spouting the same load of cobblers if woooneey had done the same

The match finished as soon as the ball crossed the line, very rare a player is sent off after a game unless it's violent conduct or abusing the ref. Pathetic attempt to try and take the gloss off our win.

Just mailed Sky with following message;
Is Ray Wilkins' assertion that Ya Ya Toure could have been sent off on Sunday after taking his shirt off in celebration of his penalty conversion correct?
Was it not the case that his penalty was the last act of the match and the game was concluded immediately on the scoring the penalty? If so then removing a shirt after the game has finished is not punishable by yellow card

Fuck me don't these pundits like to slag us when we win something.
What next, Yaya kicked the ball too hard for his penalty ?
Jealous twats the lot of them, their little Scouse love in got pissed on by us.....ha fucking ha.

According to Gallagher on Sky yesterday, both shirt removal and going into the crowd (not sure he did go into the crowd in anycase as the barriers prevent that) are classed as the same offense, excessive celebration, its only if he did something to an opposition player would it be ungentlemanly and be a double yellow.

It's clear that not only do City have no history, not only is the club devoid of any honourable tradition, it is of course completely without any class. Even when it does manage to fluke a win (through the lottery of a penalty shoot out) against a club, team and fans with a tradition of doing things "the right way" it has to show itself unworthy of such a debased triumph by such a graceless act, which would never have been contemplated by any of those players attracted to these shores by the history and tradition of a great British institution, but by a player who has such contempt for the competition his team has just won so undeservedly that he sits and sulks rather than indulges in photos with his fellow mercenaries.

I believe Sergio was booked for the famous celebration after our first league win but the game was still in progress at that point, it is exactly right that once the ref blows the whistle for the penalty to win the game the game is over so no booking was correct.

I assume the match ends when the ref says it does, so when he blows his whistle rather than when the penalty is scored. I think it's probably technically true that he could have been booked, but even the FA have said that common sense was applied.
