For your information, a club can be heavily fined or worse for throwing anything on to the pitch these days. It doesn't have to be something dangerous. Mind you, I understand that the Bayern player had a lazer pen shining in his eyes when he missed that penalty at Napoli. If only UEFA were consistent in their judgements.Mike N said:Get over it!
They weren't coines or bottles and wouldn't hurt if a player got hit.
Well I've heard it all now! Your comments sound like that of a new fan, not mine.
For you information, I've been a regular season ticket holder for nearly 40 years and what I saw on Tuesday was nothing more than lighthearted fun.
Wow!! You found it as lighthearted fun?? Here's an idea, When the club is fined 80k or whatever the amount, maybe the club should smile, identify the supporters who were involved, and then transfer the whole fine to them for having their 'lighthearted fun'. Why should the club be fined for these supporters' immaturity?
Now that this incident has been publicized, I shudder to think about what may happen when City goes to Napoli and Villarreal away. If Villarreal genuinely thinks that the 'projectile-throwing' affected their game, you can bet your ass that their supporters will doing something similar or worse when City play in their stadium...
