The ONLY thing that would stop me singing it is the fact that the rags sang it.

From what I see Argentina is a fine country that has produced some of the best players in the history of football. If I could afford it I would love to see the country. And as for wars, fuck me, we, the British have fought wars with nearly everyone in the World. It's history, move on.

I'll come with you.

I have a vague recollection of City fans sporting Argentina tops in the late 70's. I could be wrong though.

I think it was Samuel Johnson who said patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel and I tend to agree whether it be England or Argentina.

I was born English but I had no choice over the matter. I could equally have been born Argentinian or indeed Ukrainian or Afghanistani.

I sympathise with members of the military who have had terrible experiences abroad. However I reserve the right to not support the wars. As someone points out we have been at war with numerous countries over the years. Most of them out of self interest rather than moral considerations.

On the other hand my love for City far outweighs my interest in England either as a football team or otherwise. I chose City. This is not to say I won't support England next year but their defeats hurt momentarily. City winning the league would last for ever.

For me the main reason for not singing the Argentinian anthem is do we really want to upset Robinho?

Picture the scene, Zabs scampers down the right flank at Eastlands in the next derby game and puts an inch pefect cross onto Tevez's napper in the last minute. Tevez buries it and we go 6 points clear at the top of the league. A lusty rendition in the aftermath of that would be fitting I think. It might get under the skin of the rags somewhat.
