Will England ever win the world cup again?

Scottish mate. It would be hell on earth. They'd all get fucking MBEs and Knighthoods. Never hear the fucking end of it. I'd rather hear 'they think it's all over' on a loop.....

Just think of all the Crass of 92 documentaries and films and documentaries about bacon face and mentions of the Treble (that all went quiet around 3 years ago). Now times that by 100......and you still wouldn't be close.
Have you still got your West Germany shirt?

Not with that fraud of a striker, Kane.

Biggest big game ghost in the modern era.

The Di Natale of todays game. Scored bucket loads in the leagues but nowhere to be seen in the big moments on the European or International scene.

Kane was totally anonymous against us tonight. Had to check he was even playing. Not a good sign when your best striker goes missing in big games.

We have won hearts and minds though, fortunately there would have been nobody there to see it only the teams officials and passing traffic :)

100%. They haven't got over 1966 yet....
Nearly sixty bloody years of 'they think its all over.....'
Jeez.

1982 WC England were unlucky, won group had beaten a good France side 3-1 Robson goal early. had a second group stage in with Spain as hosts who lost to N Ireland and the disgrace was West Germany Austria 0 0

West Germany had lost 2-1 to Algeria.

5 games England unbeaten out.

86 well Maradonna goal given awful, so clear handball.

Ha ha I remember this tournament well.
Really enjoyed this tournament.

England getting k.o'd was partly down to the shite format, and what would become ,customary bad luck.

Drew both the second stage league games, v West Germany and Spain.
With the only other tough group being the one wlth Italy and Brazil in it.

If we'd finished 2nd in our initial group we'd have got through to the k.o's I think.
Before getting beat by the West Germans on penalties.......probably.

Presuming the world doesn't end in the next few centuries and the World Cup is still being played. Then it seems inevitable that we'll nick another one.

Great tournament.

West Germany Austria just a sporting shame that in this age of documentaries never has a good one be made, young minus 45 MC fans wouldn't have a clue Mahrez his national team for relevance!

Remember Keegan and Brooking two of our best players were injured? Had to beat Spain 2-0 last game 0-0 Keegan missed a header 2nd half? Sitter both were clearly just unfit match wise.

England were unlucky that year.

England 1982 and 1986 had the best group of GK depth wise ever ANY country, love anyone here argue otherwise Shilton, Clemence and u man Corrigan (excellent GK) had others iirc around that time young Chris Woods.

Had a chance of it but sadly for us Southgate was at the helm............think we have a good chance of it next year if Tuchell is willing to have a go.

It is nearly 60 years now since England won the world cup. After watching yesterdays game against Newcastle I have the feeling we are going backwards in football style with this seasons offerings and Arsenal winning games with tactics that got Pulis, Allerdyce and others hounded out as dinosaurs in a modern game. Yesterday showed Eddie Howe that having three 'enforcers' in midfield and lenient referees he could put the clock back and achieve his aim of winning. Along with pundits who tell all and sundry that putting the boot in is the way to do it, well at least how to stop City. I don't think in an international tournament England would get away with using these tactics and roughhousery. So personally I can't see England winning it again any time soon. After watching years of Pep and his different teams approach to the beautiful game I really am at a loss to understand this dropoff to the lowest common denominator style of football that is now the Premier League, where our future England players learn their trade.

Yes , but you and I will not be here to watch.
