Imagine a white actor slapped Chris Rock and nothing was done about it.
There would be rioting for days.
 
Would have been a much better "comeback" if Smith had kept his cool and ripped him a new one in his acceptance speech. Certainly more dignified anyway.
Never a good look when someone retaliates like Smith did, because at that point you know he has been got at, and that the jibe struck home.

Only just properly watched the whole bit. Haven’t seen many people mention the actual context of Rocks joke, the primary point of it is the shitness of a GI Jane movie would mean a sequel would have no chance of potentially being nominated for an Oscar, it wasn’t just a throwaway comment primarily about appearance.
 
If you know lady who has lost her hair through illness or treatment you will probably know how difficult it is for them to deal with. It's not like most blokes. Chris Rocks so called joke wasn't funny, it was humiliating for Mrs Smith.

If I were Smith and his wife I would have just got up and walked out.
