I've seen Will Smith do stand-up over the years and rip the piss out of all sorts so it's not like he doesn't know how these things work.
If he was genuinely upset (which I doubt going by his initial reaction) he could have had a word after.

I dont go to shows where my wifes disability could have the piss taken out of it. It shouldnt happen, then no slapping happens. Thats the rules in life. You dont personally insult someones wife and their disability.

You might be able to take that and smile at it whilst your mrs is clearly upset but not everyone can, so what he did is totally understandable.

Is what Rock did understandable?

No court in the land would back Smith on what he did.

Rock was assaulted for a job he was paid to do; risqué entertainment.

Sorry love I'm just explaining to a forum the correct term to call Will Smith as I'm sick of him being mischaracterised as a cuck when he is a blatant Wittold.

I do like my old english words, I blame @gordondaviesmoustache for all the years he corrected my grammoh and spelling on here.
