I was thinking that. Imagine if there was no 'announcements'. Just a shiny new website.
That would be hilarious.

It would be a bit hilarious.

I know a lot of this is old news to us, but to everone else this is new - Is it not:

New Kit officially unveiled (umbro), modelled by players maybe?
Coupled with plugging the free Doves gig? (IMO this was the "suprise", not a big signing)
New Sponsor (Etihad - this is not on the current site yet as Thomas Cook still there)
New Website (with VOD - Plugging pre-season friendlies maybe?)
RSC

I know people were after a special signing (Tevez) which may or may not happen, but it's fair to say that the first question will be about Eto'o. Is this a distraction from what we are trying to do, or is it a subtle ploy for maximum exposure? Do you think it was the plan to announce anything big (Tevez/Eto'o) at this conference, or will we just have to make the most of an awkward situation?

Think about it, SSN et al will be covering it live, we get 10mins of PR while we plug all our new stuff and they have to wait to ask the big question. Remeber we haven't commented on this story at all yet.

Sounds like a lot of hulaballoo over nothing. New website being unveiled isn't eaxactly eye catching stuff. The new strip isn't a big deal seeing as most of us know what'll look like. Press conferences unveiling players who agreed deals days ago kinda lose their effect don't you think? All in all nothing to get worked up about.

What an ungrateful bunch of sods on here!
Newcastle have Mike Ashley who has their new kit made out of orange and yellow stripes that he got from an old deck chair factory just to save a few quid. We have the Arabs who've ploughed hundreds of millions into the club, spent thousands re-vamping the website, bought a £15m player and are trying for more and you lot moan like a bunch of Spurs fans!
